For the sake of the argument, assume you like cheerleading or gymnastics or dance or something with a routine. Would you rather walk into a routine with a major deduction every time, but win by default, or walk in with no deduction but lose every time?

And if I always lose, why did I even bother learning the sport in the first place?
I'd rather be doing something else outside of that sport, or sports in general, and not even start training if I had prior knowledge in no possibility of winning.
