I haven't been reading any of the detailed leaked chats etc but can someone CONFIRM to me if that "prostitution ring" really involves willing sex workers? It's being reported that way in Western media, but I thought those women in the chats he was pimping out were the ones drugged and molested in the clubs.
1. Selling sex for money is in and of itself dehumanizing. Its like selling crack, doesn't matter if the drug users are willing. Because of this most people in the sex industry are either forced or manipulated into joining it or forced through dire economic circumstance. And they are treated brutally to ensure they stay. Not really a thing such as "willing" sex workers, due to all these factors its generally morally looked down upon and illegal. So Seungri is in the red regardless of the "willingness" of the sex workers.
2. The chat room was made for the purpose of secretly recording and sharing sexual relations with women without their consent to each other. Porn in general and particularly non-consensual sharing of sex tapes is illegal in SK.
- Most of the women are either girlfriends or one night stands/flings.
-However in a 2015 conversation Seungri arranged with a employee of Club Arena to use sex workers to bribe foreign investors to put stock in his company. So some of the women in the videos may also be sex trafficking victims.
-The members of the Kako, mainly Jung Joon-Young and other unnamed members, shared videos or watched videos of what they admitted were women under the influence and being assaulted. Jung didn't share a video liked this but watched one or several. So some of the women may be rape victims.
-Seungri has not been charged with rape or illegal sex videos but with pimping.
-Jung Joon-Young, the other named man, has not been charged with pimping or rape but with recording and sharing secret sex videos.
