hello and welcome to the Red Velvet B-Side Tournament!

Spoiler: Rules

1. every other day around 12 am kst I will post a new round, each round will last 48h
2. each round will consist of songs from 1 album
3. Perfect Velvet and The Perfect Red Velvet will count as 1 album
4. from The Reve Festival era I will only include Finale
5. you can choose 1 song from a mini album/The Red, 2 songs from a Perfect Velvet/The Perfect Red Velvet, 3 songs from The Reve Festival Finale
6. japanese releases are not included
7. a winning song or songs will advance to the finale
8. should 2 or more songs have the same number of votes they will both/all advance to the finale
9. in the finale winners of the respective rounds will compete for the Best Red Velvet B-Side title!

In & Out - heard this one before, it's still just ok

Remember Forever - kinda nice, but also kinda boring so ok overall

Eyes Locked, Hands Locked - Ok for now, but might grow on me

Ladies Night - I also find this ok, while there are parts I like. Might grow on me but ok for now.

Jumpin - Definitely don't like this one. I don't remember if I heard it before

Love Is the Way - This reminds me of a western song. I'm pretty sure it was sung by a guy or a boyband. Is it a remake? Especially the "yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah no no no no no" If I find the song I'm thinking of I'll post it.

Ofc it sounds quite different, but still definitely reminds me of marry you.
Oh well, it's ok. I prefer Marry You.

Carpool - Umpah umpah vibes at the beginning. I think I heard this one before but not 100% sure. Too much going on and too many switch ups, another ok.

LP - beginning sounds like old elevator music. Sounds like synths while still having an old, retro vibe. Then there's just a mish-mash of genres later, I won't get into it all. Nice harmonies. Some nice parts but overall, doesn't do anything for me, so it's ok.

Parade - Ok I did like the beginning. Groovy. But then it changed completely, so me liking it didn't last even 30 sec. Not for me either.

Bing Bing - Yeah. This is ok too. But from 2:30 to 2:48ish I liked it. But not overall

Milkshake - Oooh this is nice. The bass (an actual human bass) in the background is really nice too. The ad-libs are nice too. Just like mojito, I found the title interesting and thought I might like the song. The pre-chorus is reallllly underwhelming. I like the chorus tho. I don't really like Yeri's rap part after Joy's. So it's ok bc the pre-chorus is a big part of the song, I can't find it underwhelming and like the song overall. Still the best so far from this album. Hopefully the pre-chorus will grow on me.

Sunny Side Up! - This one I had heard before actually. Multiple times. The first time I thought the verses and pre-chorus were better than the chorus and I didn't like the song overall bc of the chorus. Next time I still like the chorus less than the rest of the song but the chorus grew on me enough to like the song overall. And I feel the same now. Similar to another song, You Better Know I think.

La Rouge - Interesting beginning. Groovy instrumental. But the vocals and instrumentals don't really go together. I'm feeling this with a lot of rv bsides tbh. The chorus was house. Interesting. I like some parts of the song but ok overall.

So I only like sunny side up from this album. Voting sunny side up and milkshake (as the pre-chorus might grow on me and then i'd like it the most)
