i liked attention but there was nothing culturally resetting about their debut. generic ass pop songs mixed with overly sexualised lyrics for a teen girl group.

meanwhile only ive out of all the girlgroups had two consecutive hits, and have already sold about 1 million copies with their two single albums and even le sserafim have debuted with quite a few viral songs from their ep but newjeans their debut was a mess and hard carried by the negative attention

The negative attention on NewJeans was way overblown by ifans.
They're breaking pretty much every record for rookies, some of which hasn't been done since Blackpink.

Attention is the first debut song in 6 years to go #1 and as soon as YouTube charts gives way, they'll be the first rookie since Blackpink to get a PAK. Hybe Boy is casually resting in the top 5 too.
