I was inspired by the thread @Soogi made and looked through a list of good quotes from books and found this one;
“There is some good in this world, and it’s worth fighting for.” — J.R.R. Tolkien, The Two Towers
I was like interesting, I didn’t remember the quote in the books, but I also haven’t read them in a while so exact quotes are unlikely to have stuck. But either way, the quote didn’t exist in the book, it’s almost the same as a quote from the movie which JRR Tolkien had no part in obviously.

i need to find the books in the chaos that is still my house. I suspect it was a line written for the movie, because teh majority of the sam frodo stuff in the movies never happened in the books. hell the majority of the two towers is wrong in the movies.
Also why i never have nor will watch movie 3 and pretty much hate teh groud jackson walks on lol

Everyone I found talking about it said it was a movie line, and I read the speech it was thought to be based off and it didn’t include it.
But yeah I can’t say I’m a fan of the movies. Especially the whole thing with Faramir being almost the exact opposite for a decent piece of it, like why The movies in general just don’t do the book justice at all imo. And let’s not even get into the fact that Legolas practically doubled in power as ability while Gimli became a literal joke. That’s just so stupid.

Frodo in the book Knows this task is well beyond him yet choses to go, acts with faith and courage if not always sense(charging 5 Ringwraiths not the best decision ) . Movie Frodo is pretty much a coward, and the fundamental difference between choosing your path and having characters (Glad among others) voices tell you what to do weakens Frodo even more.

Gimil is comic relief ( when that is what the younger hobbits did) dude is bad ass killed the same number of foes in helms deep with an ax arg..

My only happy take away is it looks fantastic, and maybe some viewers read teh actual books.

Frodo in the book Knows this task is well beyond him yet choses to go, acts with faith and courage if not always sense(charging 5 Ringwraiths not the best decision ) . Movie Frodo is pretty much a coward, and the fundamental difference between choosing your path and having characters (Glad among others) voices tell you what to do weakens Frodo even more.

Yeah, it is pretty. That’s mostly where my liking for the movies ends. Anything aside from that is meh or bad basically.

Wait people say that
The LOTR movies aren't exactly very deep and philosophical. The books aren't either per say but I think between the movies and books, the movies are better suited for younger people and books somewhat older. Not that I think younger people can't understand the books, more just that they might get bored with some aspects.

My sister about gave me a stroke. She called me after watching RotK and asked if Frodo would pick Gollum over Sam.. i was like no, how would that even come up? when she explained i was seeing red for some time.
