Youtube recommended me this video and I started watching it.. wow I had no idea, but everything that is said reminds me so much of how everything is done in kpop, but sadly only the negative things.

- The members getting only very little money and being worked to the bone for years on end
- Favortism to a level that probably makes even second gen kpop look fair and due to this a horrible group dynamic (or lack there of). I was really shocked to hear Nicole say she sang 95% of the debut album And one ohter member that was brought on as lead singer, was never allowed to sing (like everyone else but Nicole).

She might as well be the whole group at that percentage.

They recruited a bunch of professional dancers

Nicole (lead singer) was professionally trained both singing and dancing, studying dancing in college as well

and the other “singer” should’ve had more lines but Nicole was still a more skilled vocalist than her so it would’ve been like Nicole main, Melody lead in a kpop group if it was more fair

At least now Nicole is solo.

Still it was unfair, there were members that could sing but never got the chance. Even kpop line distributions are better than this. The dancers didnt sing a word, maybe the chorus as back vocal. That other member they were mentioning as lead singer, was fucking awesome and on the level of Nicole, if not even better. Funny but i think she was the one who didnt join the reunion of the group.

yes you are correct, she did not join the reunion, but she certainly did the right call as it ended in a disaster, first due to covid and then Nicole and the Manager having a massive fallout and lawsuit going on

Its sad, but interestingly it seems it worked out (based on the successes mentiond int he video). So it seems there was no outrage from fans like you would expect it in kpop today if something like that happend

I guess going solo is not only bad in kpop

But I find this case really interesting, as the way it was portryed in the video at least, everyone seemed to have thought she pretty much is the group, but when the other members who where not considered impactful were gone, everything fell apart..
