I doubt it'll gain enough traction to destroy the entire company though. I understand people being upset over the Burning Sun situation, but there's no point in boycotting the all the artists, who had nothing to do with the situation, and the company just because they're upset with YG himself and Seungri.

they want Scalps / heads to roll. Once it get to blood frenzy they do not care who's head is also involved. How many of the tens of thousands beheaded in France actually did anything?

But I agree with @Hajima comparing tax evasion to prostitution is a little much....

Even JYP's cult thing isn't really comparable.

There's more to the tax evasion and "cult thing" that meets the eye though. The point is, none of these companies are at all clean and the boycott for one of them is hypocritical and by all means, useless.

I'm not sure what it would benefit in bigger picture, it would hurt the artist mosts cause boycots are being focused on them, they are definitely caught in the cross-fire and will got shot down first and it won't change the business practices behind the companies.

THey should do through investigation to clubs and companies to find out what is going on and put some serious regulation, but I don't think they want to cause it would hurt these businesses too much.

The employees always pay the price first. its just in this type of case the employees are kinda well known. but the only way to bring pain to the companies also brings much more pain to the employees.

A company that is willing to do 1 dirty tactic is willing to do more because at the end of the day it boils down to moral guidance and most people want to take shortcuts. You do 1 dirty tactic and get away with it and then you'll try and see what else you can get away with just to see how far you can push it, Seungri is not the only one who thinks Koreas law is a joke and loves it for it.

You also cannot ignore though that the US also has corrupt tactics still to this day like just a few years ago some big people got outed in the me too movement, so if the US is still having trouble with it then Korea has got a long way to go because it's behind on way more than just this and the US is still getting stuff sorted out in their entertainment industry.

Not just female idols. There are rumors about male idols and trainees getting into these situations as well. One rumor is specifically from SM.

I don't see idols as typical employees personally, like if ur boycotting McDonalds you aren't boycotting the employees ur not buying hamburger meals. If McDonald is doing badly it will have to lay off employees eventually. But in this case you are boycotting idols- in some sense they are products, but they are also humans. So ur boycotting employees directly cause u want to boycot company and it will also directly hurt the employees.

I'm against the entire principle of boycotts and attempts to politicize consumer decisions.

I am more in favor of lettinf the justice system do it's job and sort out the matter.

So one doesn't punish the entirety of an organization (and the hundreds and hundreds of individuals that likely having nothing to do with the matter).

It is the only way customers can impact the company bottom line. This is how the companies protect/insulate themselves. Because people are usually unwilling to harm the idols so the idol companies can push the limits far far more than a normal company.
How ever you look at boycotting Micky d's/ any corperation employees will loose their jobs/wages/hours well before the company changes policy. People just do not know them thus they do not care. Its for the 'greater good ' of their cause.

the justice system is broken, looks to be un-repairable or at lease no one has the will to fix it.
Last time cost the previous president, but that seem to not have touched the problem.

yep, and be assured the companies know that very fact and use it. Its almost impossible to hurt the company with out hurting the Idols for customers/fans. So the only risk to the company is law and government and they own them. Wasn't yg in deep with the last admin?

The fact that some people think boycotting YG will do anything just baffles me. So many companies are dirty, but some people just want to ignore it. It's so ridiculous. We shouldn't eat up everything a company is feeding us because a lot of the times we're just given lies.

from comments i read, most Kpop fans want to boycott these companies because the idol groups they hate are under them (BlackPink/EXO).

i hope the police just arrest the criminal ones. but they keep avoiding it somehow.
