Do you ever think Idols are just acting? (1 Viewer)

Both trainees and idols... like I like to think they are all being genuine and their friendships are real and that's how they actually act but I really don't know. Sometimes it feels sorta fake and it also depends on the group, some seem genuine while others seem disconnected... What do y'all think? And how much of it do you think is an act if they do act?

Of course they are, I tend to assume that they do so and it takes a lot to prove to me that they arent. If I was in their situation I would do the same tbh, people dont want to see the real you they want to see the perfect you so thats the image they try to sell.

There's no way all of them could actually be that close. There are undoubetely idols that don't like certain members. Jessi even once stated that BTS were actually as close in real as they are on camera, and that there are a lot of groups who aren't like that. Super Junior, for example, don't dislike each other, but did state that their relationship is mainly business.

I mean I know of SUJU and Block B that were basically business only, Block B were literally only business but yea, interesting that Jessi said that of all people 😂

That is true in a way, tho I see it more as in... they just get out of their comfort zone as that's what idols should be, and less as actual acting. But yea they are quite ideal in that sense that it's hard to see anyone else acting in that way.

There are some groups that I think are genuinely close or just have really good teamwork and there are groups where I don't think they're that close
Team closeness and bond is a selling point for a lot of these groups, especially ggs, so it does feel exaggerated a lot of the time
I've seen so much drama over the years that I'm just naturally skeptical

There are for sure group that aren't as close as they potray themselves to be. It's ok though since you just can't be supe close with everyone.

I think it depends like about what. If they are smiling and saying fans are their girlfriends they are acting xd They also need to act on stage and in front of fans like keep smiling (girls especially) or they are going to have attitude controversy. It's seen as unprofessional and ungrateful by many to show discomfort and such even if you aren't top of your game that time.

But i don't think idols relationships are that fake, like some say they aren't friends really they are co-workers, but you don't live in dorms with your co-workers and share a room with them as well all your meals do you. Not everyone is still best friends, but it makes sense to see others in your group either as friends or even siblings since they were people you grow up with.

They are not that good of actors judging from some of the tv and movie stuff, so i would say no there is quite a bit of real comradery between members.

Some of them don’t even try anymore but if they are not friends but are ingeniously work buddies I don’t see the problem. No they aren’t all close but they get along quite well for most of them I think. They generally go through a lot of hardship together. It’s the same thing with two idols who are very close and have an argument one day. They are probably going to act fake in front of cameras for a while at least.

Oh yeah, they are definitely acting. For my final project in college I studied the Korean Entertainment industry at some point and I read that some SM idols even admitted that they had personaity crisis because they had to act in a certain way

But I believe that a lot of idols actually act on stage. This is entertainment. And ofc they are not all friends. Some may be actual friends, but for some is visible that they are not...
