I always said that ITZY was group made around Somi. She fits their sound and concept so well.

Although I liked Somi's debut with YG, I feel like she would have done better with Itzy in the end. YG is not in good situation and even if they were, the female soloist don't usually get that much content and promotions. I don't know how far she can go with YG.

It's cause you're an ITZY fan and ITZY fans are fans of the group with Yuna
From an outsider's perspective, Somi fits ITZY in every way. I can literally imagine her in the center of Dalla Dalla and her vocals in ICY.

That would be best for everyone, Teddy is still well liked and respected, and it seems to be for reason. Like afterr Minzy left the company she spoked lot of good things about Teddy. Though pretty sure the main company would just go down then, I feel like lot of artists might jump ship to Teddy's label, they are used to working with him.

Yeah and Somi co-wrote Birthday so it really seems to fit her artistry as well? Tbh I don't know why she left JYP if she was just gonna do something similar to ITZY anyway. Maybe she really didn't want to be a girl group or maybe she wanted creative control, which are all valid reasons for leaving ig. Still, it makes me sad that a girl with this much potential is having her time and talent wasted by this company.

Looking at Dalla Dalla, especially the teasers, you can tell they really tried to mold Yuna in Somi's image before she starting getting traction for her live stages.

Isn't Somis dad her manager? Couldn't it just be a case of her contract ran out with JYP and YG offered Somi more money for signing since they supposedly have the best cut for artists and along with how Somi likes YG from an outsiders perspective it'd seem like a great deal.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks Yuna is a better fit. Also I feel like Somi would have overshadowed the other members and they would get less appreciation especially Yeji. Somi fits ITZY's concept very well because the entire concept for ITZY was built around her.

The projects she was in were not really groups, aside from IOI but even that was just like 8 months.

either way it worked out well for me, fewer acts i need to worry about :) because that is so not my style whom ever is doing it ..

If only I was not terrified that Yena will end up in everclear or what ever it is.
