The media is not happy about this and because of their history with tardiness and Beckham being an international figure, reporters are boycotting. Blackpink is under fire for arriving late to an event featuring David Beckham.

According to reports, the British soccer player reportedly waited for over 20 minutes for Blackpink to arrive at an event held at the Times Square in Yeondeungpo-gu, Seoul to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Adidas and Hangul day.

According to reports, Blackpink arrived over 20 minutes late and explained that it was due to a traffic jam. The event began at 11:30am with a 10-minute meeting scheduled with Blackpink from 11:55am - 12:05pm. However, Blackpink arrived around 12:14pm causing the event to be delayed. Beckham continued to give fan service taking pictures and signing autographs despite the group's tardiness, but because of the long wait, he eventually headed back to the waiting room. When Blackpink eventually arrived, the event had been delayed for almost an hour causing reporters to begin leaving.

According to TV Daily, the issue is causing anger among field officials and netizens online because Blackpink didn't apologize to Beckham or to the reporters and fans that waited for them for a long time.

A source told TV Daily, "It seems like they haven't apologized for the situation because there were so many people at the event. Beckham didn't specifically complain or say anything about Blackpink arriving late."

The 70th-anniversary event for ADIDAS recently took place in Seoul, Korea, where BLACKPINK faced various reports of arriving late.

There's a counter-claim that they arrived an hour early n came in but the schedule was delayed/changed to 1pm so they went back to the car to wait n that's why they came in later. (Not sure wat to believe but as a Rosé bias I'm inclined to believe this if there's no receipts otherwise) I'll look for the deets/link.

This is wat I was thinking of when I read the details earlier, you can interpret it your own way: 1) bp were 20 mins late n re-scheduled to 1pm or 2) BP were on time but misinformed n rescheduled by event team to 1pm.
Either way I support BP n don't know if we'll ever know the truth, or why the media who waited 20 minutes would leave if Beckham was already there n the event went on w/out BP from 12pm till 1pm until BP came back in.
I don't even believe the media would leave an event like this if Beckham was there. I'm confused n don't know wat to think except there's some confusion n I give BP the benefit of the doubt for now.

These thigns happen, sometimes you just get delayed. I agree that apology would be needed though since that's only polite, i always apologise if i'm late meeting friends and this was event that had to be postponed. Apparently there was explanation given already with traffic jam so maybe they already apologized though? In terms of Blackpink, well this could be managaments issue just as well.

Overall I don't think being late is reason to hate on someone unless it happens multiple times or there is not good explanation for it. But overall there needs to be apology and since it has blown up YG should have posted apology before it got so big explaining the situation and saying they are sorry, won't happen again.

I was kinda thinking that too, there has been lot of car accidents, because the managers have been rushing from one activity to another and speeding. Some have resulted in injuries and even been fatal. Companies needs to stop being so greedy and manage idols time better.

The girls waited for an hour, it’s not their fault if anything it’s the events fault for not informing the girls that the event was gonna be later. Also, the girls only got to be on stage for like four minutes at the end, if they were performing it would be different but they didn’t. it’s really a non issue that Koreans are blowing up because of their hatred for yg artists.

There seems to be very little tolerance for any whiff of divaish behavior and repeated late arrivals does not bode well.
Folks get hammered all the time, western artists are even boycotted by the media there for this.
