Yeah but she's been a trainee in agencies constantly and was also a part of a short lived group called Five Dolls lol, so it's not like she was out of practice. Normally I'd feel bad coz anyone can have a bad day but due to her attitude problems and other stuff over the years, I didn't feel sad in the slightest lol.

She apologized but I can't find any original source, which I'm surprised by. Also it's a bit overblown, if u take wat they said/wrote literally; i.e.
Minji: "I was a former trainee at SM 17 years ago, and I could've become a member of Girls' Generation. I shed tears when I saw Girls' Generation debut. I thought, 'That's where I should be.' My husband said he wants me to try one more time, so I decided to appear on this show."

thread, I re-thought abt her saying this-she never specifically said she was picked to be in SNSD then cut or anything, from comments-more like wistful yearning to be chosen. Also some memory alteration, maybe since "Era of the Maidens" as originally known wasn't universally beloved; unless she watched "School of Rock" n thot I shd be on there too, which could be right; or just hyperbole.

The boldest part of Taeyeon's post I just take to mean "8 of us" redacted n another who debuted but no longer together, since she dint write they worked hard n debuted as 8 n hv been together for last 12+ yrs as 8, I give it a pass(as a huge golden star who is conflicted over 930). Others can choose to rage on if they like, but I don't expect such here on KS.
Tl:dr, overblown but understandable. (Maybe TY didn't watch the show/clips exactly n just read abt it n was overwhelmed with everything tat happened recently, but her phrasing is exact without erasing/altering memories, just eliding/redacting sth for reasons understandable to me.) it's been a tough week, as I wrote in gc this might just hv been feather tat broke the camel's back.(I realise its straw but tats wat I wrote earlier. LOL)

Don't see the point in saying you almost got in "x" group unless people are asking about your background specifically like imagine if Miyeon focused on almost being a member of Blackpink, it'd get tiring very fast and undermine everything else she offers as well as (G)I-dles reputation.

Ahhh, I rethot abt it: she's 32yr old housewife(?) on a kpop singing program, pretty sure they coached her/scouted her maybe n probably suggested her to say she was SM trainee 17 yrs ago.

I give her n Tae a pass on this whole thing(after reading wat was said literally/tho translated), it's overblown. U can decide for urself tho.

They probably did to get a wow factor from the audience which I can see the point in that because knowing she's an SM trainee would have been impressive especially in that era of SM but adding the Girls' Generation part pushes it out of the wow factor for me at least.

no the 5 dolls girls starlight Chanmi (she was in pd 101).
she was in one of the larger group photos.

Still does not change the idea that aside from Soyeon and Stella who both left SM for their own reasons (after they were pretty much set in the group) all of the other girls were dropped from the group by SM itself.

Its like the 16 girls aside from say maybe Somi(never seen it but i understand the fans had her in but jyp killed her) saying they were almost twice.

Though I can understand why Taeyeon only mentioned 8. We don't know how much the girls are tied down by SM to not mention OT9... But we do know that any mention of OT9 by any of the 9 girls would set off the immature stans on either side (though they've already kicked off *sighs*)


Wait a few years for Mnet to air 'Produce I Almost Made It Into SNSD'...

I would be happier if they, when talking about the past not use a number say us members know who we are and unless you are one of us then refrain from using our brand. (technically i think sm could sue the lady but that would just be silly and mean)
