Why do you smile?

Is it because you like to?
Is it because you find life amusing?
Is it because the people around you make you?

I smile because I know that if I do, it makes it easier for me to brighten someone's day. It hits them deeper when they know I mean it. I try to smile all the time to seem welcoming. I want people to know that I am open to helping them, even if I don't know them well.

If any of you are going through anything, let me know. You can PM me to discuss it. I won't ask any questions to invade your privacy. I just want to help.

I'm the type of person who is like the girl in the boutique checking out her a** in a dress to make sure she doesn't look too big. I will smile in the mirror to see my best angles and what suites my face the best. And when someone says something cringey... I make a mix between a smile and a scrunchy face... Or when someone's being rude and I smile because I can't believe their degree of grandiosity...

The five members of my family are the reason I smile even when I don't want to smile. They make me feel touched, laugh, embrace myself and feel like I have a reason to stay and work hard. Even though I'm so different from all of them as a person, I know I have them to fall back on even if they're not really aware of that.
For all other situations, I just smile because it's the normal thing to do. That's something I got the hang of after years. Rather than being upset about it, I think I just feel empty.
