4th gen GGs are outdoing the BGs by a long mile (3 Viewers)

Honestly I think SMNGG is the one thing that is DEFINITELY happening! Of all the promised groups to debut, I think SMNGG is the first one in line and it's a matter of days now until we get movement!

SM is currently... really quiet. The only thing going on rn is the NCT 127 comeback, which makes me think they are gearing up to something BIG aka... SMNGG.

I hope so, losing Lami and Koeun seems big tho, they were such hyped trainees alongside Yiyang who already left to China and joined Tao's agency lmao. I guess there's still Ningning and the other girl but not sure, I think it could still happen this year tho.

From what we saw of SM's rumored plans at the start of the year, they're planning on a Seulgi solo debut, and RV had 3 cbs last year so maybe this year they focus more on solo activities while they establish the new group. Will be interesting if rumored YGNGG comes out at the same time

We are also supposedly gonna get a Suho solo debut and a Kai solo debut! They also said EXO members overall are gonna focus on solo activities this year.

Honestly as a former full BG Stan I gotta agree.
GG releases over the past year have been overall much more diverse and interesting to me. While I wouldn't call myself a hard stan for any of them (besides DreamNote & Dreamcatcher), since only the releases over that past year have been interesting to me, I'm obviously looking forward to more.
PinkFantasy, ELRIS, April, Purple Beck, EVERGLOW, Limesoda just to name a few of the many I've listened.

With ATEEZ I have the problem of extremely liking the songs in the beginning but 1-2 weeks after I'm getting totally tired of them (while not even over listening to their songs or playing them on loop for hours), something about their songs is just not long-lasting enough for me to keep going back to.

DONGKIZ imo have been hugely on my radar and one of my fave groups cuz of their cute concepts, I normally never liked cute BGs but it just seems genuine with them. And these days there are barely any cute BGs, some say TXT are going for a cute concept but different from DONGKIZ, I don't really buy it from them, with TXT it seems fake for me.

One really recent boygroup I like is MCND, knowing them pre-debut and their sing/dance covers I can't wait to see what they have in store for the future.

Txt is the only boy group who stands out to me, I loved their comeback earlier this year. I think they really brought something new to the table in the bg category when the only music that was being made was noisy edm trap songs that get boring in a day. even some of my favorite bgs who I look forward to are releasing songs like that so txt was like a breath of fresh air for me.

Same, I’m still waiting for them to develop their own style because I feel like they’re still under bts’ shadow for the most part. Run away was a good start for them to start showing their own unique side off. I just hope to god that they don’t switch to noisy edm like what all the other bgs are doing Rn. I rlly enjoyed their album, we need more bgs who incorporate r&b into their music and txt started to show some of that in their album with the bsides.

Honestly Bighit isn't helping at all with getting them out of BTS's shadow... basically all of txt's fandom is ARMY and they utterly failed at growing their fandom after debut. Their sales for debut and the comeback... are literally the same. No difference at all and if anything the sales dropped by a bit.

I can't argue, though. GGs been bringing it. But I'm biased, lol. I always find it easier to get into GGs anyway. My playlist is basically GG central plus BTS, Ateez, and some EXO. I have more BGs on the trial playlist, but the groups on there have a sizable discog so I'm dragging my feet

Honestly IZ*ONe has just been overall slaying me.
Dreamcatcher didn't debut in the past few years, but they HAVE been slaying it!
(G)I-dle has been bringing it and tbh.... Uh-oh was a queen that deserved more love.

I agree, big hit is promoting txt the same way he promotes bts. By barely sending them to variety shows in korea and making them do their own content. That’s not a bad thing but, but big hit doesn’t understand that they are not bts... they aren’t seven years into their careers with good support from the gp and their fandom. Txt needs to get familiarized with the gp because as far as anyone is concerned they’re still the second bts. They aren’t their own entity, and honestly it has nothing to do with their music, it has way more to do with the way big hit promotes them.
