Appreciation The only good BTS x western artist collab (1 Viewer)

I don't like the majority of BTS's western artist collabs.
They just ain't working for me, bcs well... it's like the western celeb is there just to be there and don't make the song any better.

My policy with collabs is that if I like the version of the song without the collab more than the one with it.... the collab ain't worth it.

And so far there is only 1 collab of BTS (the whole group) with a western artist where I prefer the collab version... which is Idol.
Idol with Nicki Minaj is just >>> and her verse is god damn fire!

Hmm I liked the idea of Nicki Minaj in Idol and I tend to like her in most of her collabs but it just didn't really do it for me. BTS and Sia has been their worst collab tho by far. Their collabs with Steve Aoki are the best, some Armys are getting bored of Steve Aoki collabs but honestly all of the collabs have an entirely different vibe so I feel like the only reason some Armys are tired of Steve Aoki collabs is because they'd rather just add another high profile celebrity onto the list for 'bragging rights', even if the actual collab doesn't really bring anything to the songs and the song would've been better off without it. I'm all for BTS collabing with more western artists but only if the music that comes out of it actually benefits from the collab, ON didn't really benefit from Sia, and Idol is a little in between because some people love Nicki's verse but personally I feel like it could have been better

Ik this whole paragraph is a whole bunch of irrelevant to the actual topic but idk I feel like I haven't had an opportunity to talk about the various BTS collabs like this yet

so here are some of my thoughts that accumulated over the years

I feel like both versions have different charms when they're performing it. The original feels more 'swag' but the Steve Aoki version is a bit more sleek and polished ig, I tend to prefer the original unless it's the extended Steve Aoki ver with the dance break stuff, those parts were cool I thought

I'm gonna agree, the Aoki version is good too and gives off totally different vibes and is amazing on it's own right.

I liked Idol with Nicki Minaj, but generally (prolly all the time actually) I don't like Western collabs.

Idol live version is the best
I literally started to love the song after I saw them perform it at concerts. The Nicki Minaj version...I am still acting like it doesnt exist. Tbh everytime its cb time, I am praying for a collab free one

Mic drop aoki version is pretty great, tho I love the original too. And lets not forget the truth untold, its a beautiful song and an aoki collab as well



this collab is pretty good too (and very underrated)

and I like the bts world soundtracks too, those are great collabs

the others are... well I still didnt dare to listen the other version of ON, I am fine with the original thanks
