I was like "I didn't throw shade in this one" lolI was just agreeing with you! LOL
Honestly worried about this, I don't Irene to get cancelled but the backlash she's getting in Korea is intense and well-needed, not just for her as a person but those stylists and alleged staff members. They already aren't treated or paid well as is and the OP put her job on the line speaking out. She even treated one of the biggest stylists in China like crapThis isn’t surprising to me. Firstly I've always said people in the entertainment industry have to have somewhat of a ego to even think of becoming stars. The Kpop industry is very competitive and cutthroat, like someone said on another forum, the qualities that would help you thrive in that environment may not translate well to intrapersonal relationships. So stars being rude to the people that work under them or for them in a certain setting is not surprising at all.
In Irene's case we know idols emotional expressions are limited, she has to cooperate with RV, their manager and be subordinate to the suits at SM. Unfortunately she may feel the best way to vent or to express her negative emotions is at the people below her or people who she is working with that are important but can't really act against her. In the West I think we're more honest about this fact and glamorize artist having diva/divo moments. However in SK it seems just in generally there is a certain decorum one should carry in public especially as a public figure. Being demanding and mean-girlish isn't favored. This is especially true for idols.
Honestly this won't end Irene's career. I-fans are stans who will simply support her no matter what, using all types of talking points to defend her. She'll probably be uplifted as a Kpop Diva from now on. As for Korea us Western netzines need to stop acting like K-netzines hold so much power, they don't. So many Western celebrities have been canceled Online for stupid or serious reasons but as long as they have allies in the industry & a fanbase they'll be alright. Same in SK. Average Koreans probably don't care beyond gossip (if they even now). Many will still bump RV. Her K-stans will support her regardless, and SM knows how valuable Irene/RV still is. People lower in the industry if she continues to mistreats them, will have to simply suck it up again.
Your right, people are pulling endorsements and apparently there is talk about pushing back her movie. Its the endorsements and people in the industry that can really dead her career. This looks bad because there is a lot of discussion about entitlement and abuse of power in Korea, plus she pissed off really powerful people. Irene isn't the worse offender but she is a relatively important person who can actually face punishment for this. IDK I'm still not sure if this will be a career ender, we'll have to see in a month or so.Honestly worried about this, I don't Irene to get cancelled but the backlash she's getting in Korea is intense and well-needed, not just for her as a person but those stylists and alleged staff members. What's going to stop other idols, or even Irene from taking this as a free pass
Yep she might have to focus on acting from now on,,,It’s not a career ender probably but her going unaffected is out of the question.
For one, her career as an idol is in serious doubt, many CFs and offers might dry up, and she will need to lay low for a while before attempting a full time comeback. The diva image doesn’t help anyone in SK, esp more so when it’s a female idol.
That’s actually smart, the type of power she pissed seem to be in fashion & styling which would affect a Idol It Girl more then a actress. She can rehabilitate her image through acting and then after that seek out those sweet endorsements deals that will come as long as a significant enough segment of the GP & her fan base support her.Yep she might have to focus on acting from now on,,,
I think she'll still be able to get endorsement deals here and there, it's just the TYPE of endorsement deals she gets offered will change because she doesn't have a pure, family friendly image anymore...That’s actually smart, the type of power she pissed seem to be in fashion & styling which would affect a Idol It Girl more then a actress. Honesty if she is never as popular again it serves her right. I think that’s consequence enough for what she did & hopefully to reform her behavior.I think she'll still be able to get endorsement deals here and there, it's just the TYPE of endorsement deals she gets offered will change because she doesn't have a pure, family friendly image anymore...
Honestly, I don't feel comfortable saying about she deserves and what she doesn't because I don't actually know what it is that she said and the context of why she said it...Hones

On a related note, SM will certainly be looking to debut their NGG and get a fresh faced It Girl in the 4th Gen before it’s too late.
True.Honestly, I don't feel comfortable saying about she deserves and what she doesn't because I don't actually know what it is that she said and the context of why she said it...
