We don't know what the members will be
We don't know what the concept will be

We don't even know whether it will be cringe or not

We literally know nothing about this group aside from where it'll be based, so like.... not much to base an opinion on

I am not on board
1. hard rule about company survival shows.
2. NCT's dance/ sync standard is stupid and they could dilute the brand.

i honestly love the survival show idea..

plus if we going to have nct... Africa, Europe, south east Asia, Australia, America ...
we eventually were going to have members who aren't east asian...

like yeh i would rather them announce the unit for shotaro and sungchan first

they are only really announcing the show for the new unit..

we dont know how long after the show the unit would actually debut...
plus they are only in audition phase for the show soo i cant see it being this year...
if you compare the wait time from treasure vs treasure box... [cause sm is slowwww]
as i cant see it being as fast as enhypen as they were all trainees in bighit for a while and hand picked from big hit trainee line mostly

lastly they haven't even announced what type of unit its going to be..
rotational fixed? like dream... with members in other units...
temporary ... as this could be a thing eventually... a unit what only lasts 2 years than members go to other units or return to original units

I can agree on the survival show part, but I'm not gonna hold it against the resulting group. (+ what is the difference between audition show and survival show..... Maybe no public voting? I don't know....)

The 2nd part it pointless, bcs ANY unit can dilute the brand if done shittly. There is no reason to think they would lower standards for this unit.

There's a long, long list of reasons this is a bad idea and to dislike it. To start with, the US market is already saturated with boy groups and a new one comes out seemingly every few months. Second, MGM is involved and they're really good at screwing things up. On top of that there's whether or not they'll be singing in Korean (that's not kpop, that's just pop at that point and why the hell bother?) plus the cultural divide, and a ton of other things. It's a bad idea in so many ways and everyone has a right to dislike them if they want. Also your "replace white with another race" is a real slippery slope and ngl a disgusting take on it. The pop world is literally saturated with white men, if not dominated by them in some areas. You trying to make an equivalence with xenophobia just shows how little you know.

I don't like it at all, tbh. It's just... why do we need more Americanized K-Pop acts? It's one thing to branch out to America and the west but it is another thing entirely to be making a whole entire subunit based around it... can it still even be counted as K-Pop (speaking loosely here as we have no real info yet, but you get the point)? Also, assuming there may be any in this new unit, having white people in a music genre based around POC is already not a good idea. Having an industry become so big across the world that is outside of the "white gaze" is a really, REALLY good thing, and white people do not need to come in and ruin that.
P.S. There is nothing offensive about saying ew white men considering they are historically the biggest oppressors, even now. - Sincerely, a male aligned white person.

Just because something "sounds racist" doesn't make it such and I suggest you educate yourself because this is ignorant beyond all reason. White people do not experience racism to the degree of other races, especially in places in which the social hierarchy is, in itself, based on the premise that one race is more human than another. Racial prejudice is not equal to racism and it'd do you a world of good to crack a book on the subject to learn how muddy the waters in regards to racism are.

White men have privilege and are afforded opportunities at far greater rates than minorities, especially in music. We don't need more of that.

White men do not belong in Korean pop, regardless of geographical subunit location, and I will stand by that until I breathe my last.

I don't think any group should be excluded just cause there is lot of them in music business already It's individuals trying to make it in the end, they should not have to limit themselves from trying to chase what they dream cause of societal make-ups. For example if there was white person born in Korea who knew korean really well and wanted to be singer why not. It's not like finnish pop only has plp from finnish ethnicity

There is also the thing, nowhere has it said the entire group would be all white and I agree, if it ends up being all white, it'll be kinda fucked and not it. But as it's said everybody worldwide can apply as long as they are male and in between the ages of 13-25, I better hope they don't keep it to just one race.
