Although, I really don't see why brown people would want to join the Kpop industry. We're treated as an inferior race with "dirtier" skin. Like, why would anyone wanna put themselves through that? Lol.
The amount of hate comments I have seen about brown people online is really upsetting. If there is a brown person in a youtube video, you will always see a racism comment in the comment section. The whole thing with Pewdiepie vs Tseries worsened the racism towards brown people as a whole.

Yeah I don't know how it went from Pewdiepie vs Tseries to Pewdiepie vs India. Crazy. Oh well, racism is prevalent in the world as ever.

Yes and they started to being racist towards other brown people as well. It really upset me seeing those comments. Everything was taken too far. :(

I just said I wanted to see white people in KPOP (because of diversity), and they said let "Asian music be for Asians". Okay my dude, I am Asian, so I know what you mean, but that isn't what I meant. Honestly, I meant that I'd like to see more diversity in KPOP. In my opinion, the logic that "KPOP should be for Asians" is equivalent to "Western music should be for Western people", which is really toxic imo. What are your opinions? Do you guys think KPOP should have more diversity? Also, keep in mind that my original comment was that I'd like to see more white people in KPOP, but I don't believe Lana should have debuted as she wasn't really ready, and only debuted because she was white (imo).

It makes sense tome to diversify K-pop since it wants to be global.
And I know people be like "well there's American music" BUT American music doesn't let you really collaborate with Asian-Americans because there's not like any mainstream Asian-Americans singers (that's not mixed with African or Caucasian) because American music industry doesn't wanna give them that chance. It acts as if anyone can make it and that's just all an illusion.

And y'know what it'll be a good chance for K-pop to become that genre where everyone is a singer African descent, Caucasian, Asian, Latinx, Pacific Islander, Indigenous peoples, etc can come together to make music and do performances together without being held back by an industry who won't even give someone a chance. Why can't K-pop go down that route? Why does American have to be the ONLY diverse music industry? Why can't other industries be it? Especially when American music industry clearly doesn't give certain groups of people any kind of chances.

People want K-pop to just be Korean only but there's already been more than 1 Black Kpop idol, more than 1 Caucasian Kpop idol, more than 1 non Korean idol. And if you include songwriters, composers, dancers, etc then K-pop has BEEN not being just for Koreans for over a decade now. I can vaguely recall seeing a Black backup dancer and a Black idol performing on stage/in music videos released in like 1995 or the late 90s or early 2000s. I know for sure Lee Bok man (?) member of INK is Black and that group released their song "Frankly" in 1995.

I'd like to join a Korean entertainment company. Or at least participate in the audition process because I'm sure I'm going to find many talented people. And if none of us make it then we can make our own group. We'll be the next CAMILA.

I feel like Kpop should only be for Koreans or asians. Western has diverse people so if you wanted to, you could possibly become a singer. Kpop is different, Korea’s majority is Koreans. It gives Koreans or Asians a huge chance to become an idol. America is hard to make it in, but if Americans started becoming Kpop trainees it’d be wack. Sorry if this is insensitive but purely white people have a better chance making it in America then asians. I feel like Kpop & western music evens it out more. Kpop gives asians a better chance then Americans. Western music gives black & white people a better chance.
American music isn't even diverse though?
I will NEVER see someone like Wendy performing on stage with someone like John Legend at the VMAs or anywhere
Because American music doesn't give any chances or opportunities for people like Wendy, Krystal, Amber, etc to make it. It's so infuriating.

I will NEVER see a girl group like the Pussycat Dolls where I'll see Caucasian, African Descent, Latina, Asian, etc in one group. Why? Because American music doesn't make groups like that. It barely makes groups NOW.

And I think that's part of the appeal of why Americans wanna train for K-pop (regardless of ethnicity/race). That and you can actually APPLY to go to a record company. These days you can't just send in a recording to a Record company in the U.S anymore it literally doesn't work that way. You have to try to do Soundcloud, Myspace, Facebook, YouTube, etc try to release and get as many fans through any means so a record company even NOTICES you then HOPEFULLY they'll sign you IF that even happens.

EDITED:

Edited so I can include this video. Because I literally have to go watch MAMA an ASIAN MUSIC SHOW to see a stage where Asians can sing with someone that's non-Asian-in this case-a Black man.
If I sound irritated/pissed/mad. It's because I am. I don't see any reason why Asians can't be more included into the American music industry. AND I'm mad because U.S dares to claim and brag how diverse it is in general, despite lots of evidence saying otherwise.

So if America can't be that industry. Then I can't see why K-pop can't? Let K-pop be the one to just stomp all over U.S industry and show what diversity AND talent actually is.

Like @Walnutt oppa said, anyone who can speak the language fluently should be given a chance to sing. Although, I really don't see why brown people would want to join the Kpop industry. We're treated as an inferior race with "dirtier" skin. Like, why would anyone wanna put themselves through that? Lol.
Hmm, I'm South Asian, but as I have Northern blood, I'm extremely light skinned. Also, I'm Pakistani. Not saying I would join though.

Then you'd definitely have a good chance ^^
But for people like me, with brown skin, it would be an extreme challenge to break into or even be accepted into the Kpop industry.

Ic where you’re coming from & I kinda agree. America is diverse but the reason why you never see asians is like you said. But that’s what I see what kpop is for. It gives asians the chance to make it but if americans start applying it’ll most likely be wack lol.

Ugh, I hate the fact that I'd be more liked than you because I'm whiter. It's like that in South Asian work too. I mean, how many "beautiful" actors have dark skin? Its funny how Asians always play the victim, when, as an Asian, most native Asians are extremely racist. Thank God I was born and raised in America.

Yeah the colorism in South Asia is extremely bad. "Whiter is better" is a movement that has not slowed down at all in that part of the world. Actually, I believe it has even picked up xD. The amount of fairness cream ads I see when I go to India is crazy.

Americans have already applied to be in K-pop and there's been Americans in K-pop itself.

Amber Liu is American. She's Taiwanese-American, she auditioned. Pretty sure she didn't learn Korean until after she joined her company SM Entertainment.

Jessi Ho is American. She's Korean-American and has stated more than once and shown that she really did not know like any Korean when she came to S.Korea. She was from U.S state New Jersey which I don't ever hear of it having a Koreatown or large Korean-American population.

Alexandra Reid is American. Her company should've given her a Korean tutor but they didn't she had to struggle on her own. She didn't audition though but her company did like contact her first.

Alex Christine is Russian/Korean American.

Allysse is African-American and she was a trainee at a small Korean Entertainment company. She speaks Korean and can sing in it. She's even released a few original songs.

I even heard that's a Black guy as a trainee at YG Entertainment.

And not American but a member of now disbanded group O21 had a filipina member.

And even as we're speaking there's Americans applying to K-pop trainees.
And how do you know if it'll be wack? No one knows what the outcome will really be IF a lot of Americans get accepted in a wave. Which I doubt they would be. American by the way isn't just Caucasian people. It's East Asian, West Asian, South Asian, African descents, Latina/Latino, Indigenous Americans, Pacific Islanders.
