I thought it was interesting that they convicted him when one of her friends had released messages from her where she stated she was lying but I figured they must have other more convincing evidence that he was guilty (I haven't been following the case so idk). Guess we'll see where this goes now. I hope if he is innocent he gets justice and if he is guilty he gets punished. And if she's guilty she gets punished and if she's innocent she gets exonerated.

So in summary the witness was supporting Du Meizhu against Kris but changed her mind and decided he's innocent, not because anything in the past magically changed but because she and Du Meizhu weren't friends anymore? Yeah thats a pass for me. I have a hard time trusting people who change their minds/stories because of an unrelated event. If the story changes becaue they've experienced something traumatic and didn't want to originally talk about all the details, sure, still a little harder to believe but sure. But if you’re study changes because you decide you no longer like one of the people in the case is a hard sell.

IMO if she did lie, especially for money, she should get a harsher punishment (but then again I don't know what he was sentenced to so it could be harsh). Lying about SA not only harms the innocent person who was accused but it can also do harm to other SA victims who might not know the circumstances of the case, that she lied, and just see another r**ist "getting away with it" therefore not report their own SA.

It's already a serious and under-reported crime without people using it for their own benefits.

I agree that's my thought. Well, even if she isn't Kris's family won't appreciate it much so she may. His mom seems really distraught over it and may pin blame on her for his accusation.

The thing he was sentenced for didn’t even include all the girls she said was involved, he was sentenced because of three girls in this case if I remember correctly
I personally think dmz and this friend are lying, but Kris is still not completely innocent, he still must’ve did something to trigger these accusations anyway
