It's funny how every SM girl group seems to be fashioned after the boy group that debuted directly before them until RV... Do you think SM decided not to make a female EXO after the trouble they had with the China line or do you think that was never on the table in the first place?

I do not think they had the numbers. EXO was 12 right and RV was a rushed 14.
If they had wanted a big gg they would have kept the 3 WJSN girls and the twice girls sister ect.
Also SNSD were still huge pre the Jessica event.

If they were going big then the adding a unit rumor may have been true with the other girls in the happiness video, but i doubt it because of the trainee pruning.

I mean would you cut Cheng Xiao, Luda and Yeonjung? I cant find the reference for cheng xiao so that may be me miss remembering.

Yea the only way you would do that is if you have Seulgi and do not have a spot for her right now.

Yes, Cheng Xiao used to be an SM trainee.

Another one that got away was Kim Sejeong. She auditioned for SM but did not get in.

One of the ex JAP4N girls apparently said that Tzuyu wasn’t even supposed to have been on Sixteen, and only got added on for the show to have the token Chinese speaker 💀 Xueer really got unlucky with timing but she’s thriving rn in China so I guess it all worked out for her

she went on qcyn2 and made the final lineup, making it into THE9. She’s not doing as well as say, Liu Yuxin or Xu Jiaqi, but the group is doing pretty well in general; they’re consistently at the top for Weibo’s power rankings
