Should I get Pokemon Let's Go Eevee? (2 Viewers)

I've just started to use my Switch again and Pokemon games are generally some of my faves but I downloaded the demo and I'm still not quite sold on it (mainly due to the controls). I've been watching some of the games play on YouTube and it does seem like the kinda thing I'd like but I'm weary about spending that much on a game when I'm still not sure if I'll like it. Does anyone else have it? Would you recommend it?​

@JakeyWantsCakey Dude! Get it just for the fact that you can ride a Haunter. I'm not even kidding. Seriously though, I just got it last Friday and I've been playing it non-stop. The only drawback is that you can only battle trainers+gym leaders and can't battle pokemon in the wild; you can only catch them. I don't mind that change though.

Other things to consider:

• You have a pokemon (i.e. Eevee, Pikachu) with you, but you can also have another pokemon out of the ball following you too. Depending on which (i.e. Kangiskhan) you may be riding it or sitting on its back.
• Leveling sort of goes by faster. Some pokemon give more exp than others. I got my Kangiskhan from 19 to level 30 in the span of an hour.
• Nostalgia from playing Pokemon Gen 1 when you were a kid, if you did that.
• You can send the extra pokemon you catch to Oak and he will give you candy that you can give to your pokemon to increase their stats
• You don't have to go to a Poke Center to switch out your party. This is a mechanic that I hope is kept for the new game, as I feel like this makes it less tedious.
• You can get all three starters by time you get to Vermillion city. You just have to meet certain criteria. You can also find Charmander in Rock Tunnel if you chain, but thats a different issue.
• Safari Zone: You can put your pokemon go pokemon in here. I'm not sure how it works since I don't do Pokemon go.
• You can battle the gym leaders and some trainers again after you beat the elite 4.
• All things considered its like a new version of Yellow/Blue/Red in that there are only the original 150. Do you know how great it is that you don't have to contend with 700+ Pokemon? I haven't even finished the game and I've already seen 109.
• If you end up getting it, I would suggest trying to get it online since Amazon has a slightly lower price than Walmart. For your own sake, don't go to Gamestop. It's like 59.99, while at Walmart its like 49.99...
• There are some pokemon you kind of have to work to catch, hell even to find. Kangiskhan for instance. You have a 1% chance of finding him, and only in Rock Tunnel can you get him. You basically use lures to get him and chaining helps, i've heard. It took me a while, but I got him. The feeling of accomplishment of getting a Pokemon that took a lot of work to find is amazing.
• Sad things
  • You can't evolve the Eevee or Pikachu that you get at the beginning. I would have loved to have a Riachu or Jolteon sitting on my head. Honestly, since I am playing Lets Go Eevee, I have no clue if Pikachu will sit on your head.
  • You can't random battle.

So, I would say get it when you can afford it. The switch also makes it so you can play on your tv, which is cool... But when I was playing Yellow (when I was a kid like 5-6, there was this thing where you could stick your Game Boy Color games in an adapter and play Yellow/Red/Blue on your N64. Some functions are easier, such as catching, on handheld mode, but its a mere preference.

It just got delivered today! I haven't played it yet because it's lunch time here right now and I want to eat first! I got let's go eevee btw

I looked it up on google and apparently you can catch wild Eevees on route 17, I think. I know they're really rare but I kinda wanna collect all of the Eevee evolutions.

lures will help flush out the rare pokemon. I found about 3 eevee's, in that area, while looking for Rapidash. Chaining also helps find rares too, as was the case when I found a Charmander outside of being given one in Cerulean city. I've seen walkthrough videos of people catching Bulbasaur in Viridian forest.

One last thing I would say: If you encounter a Chansey without trying catch it. Chansey is one of the pokemon that will give you a lot of exp. Under certain conditions this can range from 7000-90k exp.

I have played Pokemon Let's Go Eevee last year when it was released. It is not bad, but the main games are definitely better. if you play it with that in mind then it is okay. Also it is enjoyable and it helped to get hyped for the first switch main game.
