I don't think she stopped trying.. I think she was really struggling to reach the notes.

I liked the performance because of how into it she is, also 1:20 lmao
Mostly to me it just sounds like she's having a hard time not giggling. It also kinda seems like she's looking for her style. She probably had people telling her exactly how to sing in SM (style as well as on technique) so now she's doing what she likes... without the people with the technical expertise to help her.
I don't mind much, as long as she doesn't try to do that Christina Aguilera shtick

IDK if anyone will agree with me but I feel like she's been trying out a lot of new ways of singing with these new singles she's been putting out. In Born Again (?) especially she sounds so different and strange. I didn't recognize her voice at first. It's like she varies from song to song now. I can't wait to listen to her album when I come home though.
