In terms of creative control. YGE gives no such option to BP or the future boy group, so I guess this most be a BlackLabel thing.

The song I don't like it. TBH I feel like Teddy's quality of music has gone down or it simply isn't as special as it once was. The songs WINNER and IKON produced independently of Teddy has been great. Whistle is still in my opinion BlackPink's best produced song and that was not on Teddy. Even Crush and Kill this Love which are similar, I think Crush is composed better and fits the 2NE1 members voices more. What You Waiting For by R.Tee is much more interesting then Birthday and Kill this Love. IDK maybe I'm too use to Teddy but I think the younger artist would benefit from new blood and new ideas that are more unique to their artistry and not left overs from the models that fit BIGBANG X 2NE1 like a glove.

Of course this debut was rushed lol. YGE has to shove out Somi and Lee Hi (hell maybe AKMU) to create money to try to fill the massive hole these criminal cases blew open. This is especially evident for Somi who wasn't even ready for a performance at her own showcase, somehting I've never seen in 4 years of being into Kpop.

that whole not being ready for her showcase was absurd to me...i've never even heard of that. i think the black label wasn't ready for a kpop idol debut.

Sunmi's first two songs are the only ones that I heard that for sure were what I expect from Teddy. Her third one, I'll have to listen again. Also Sunmi is a experienced performer who embodies and transfers her songs in a way BlackPink and Somi don't in my opinion.

Its mostly the same guys who have been working at YGE for decades, they know what it takes. It was just rushed for the reasons I stated. At YGE no one knows for sure when they are going to debut/comeback, its just decided.

I am mad because of the hate that she is receiving too. It’s based on nothing or pure assumptions : Somi is a traitor, she hates Twice, she has beef with JYP and Itzy, she has so much freedom that she couln’t dance during the showcase.

We don’t know what happened behind the scenes.

Her debut performance wasn’t great but now she is improving, she did much better in the past so I guess that she was really nervous because she made her debut in difficult conditions with a wrong timing.
