Source: Police Request Pretrial Detention Warrants For Seungri And Yoo In Suk

Police requested arrest warrant today for Seungri and Yoo In-Suk (Yuri Holding's CEO) on accounts of mediation of prostitution and embezzlement. If the arrest warrant is accepted by the court both of the suspects will be detained and likely be jailed until their trials. Arrest warrant can be accepted if there is potential for suspects to try to flee or destroy evidence important for the case.

Seungri and Yoo In Suk are suspected to have conspired together to mediate prostitution in 2015 and 2017 as well as embezzling money from their businesses including Burning Sun and Monkey Museum among others.

This whole Burning Sun and Katalks gate has been going several months, especially for Seungri. It's bit interesting how he hasn't been arrested when many others involved in these cases have, but I guess it's just cause evidence against him is less straightforward. There has been some testimonies about the prostitution really happening, but so far Seungri has denied everything about the prostitution. The money embezzlement thing is definitely new charge against him, and maybe this does have more straightforward evidence, there might be money trail they can follow and if that's the case it can be that he will be charged for at least this one eventually. Still not sure about the prostitution, do the police have enough evidence about that or do they not? So far it doesn't seem like Seungri will be receiving charges against any other stuff involving Burning Sun and the Katalks.

Personally I'd really like this to proceed to court case already and have final ruling of the court on whole thing. But I guess it will still be a waiting game, they haven't still sentenced even JJY right, although he confessed so who knows how long this will still go on. I guess this is a step for a police though, even if I'm not sure what will happen if they fail to get the arrest warrant, is that sign that the case doesn't have strong enough evidence and will be dropped anyways - or does that just mean Seungri will wait for his case to be handled in court with his freedom.

Yes it does seem like at least with Seungri this case is far from over. This is step from police that they are trying to take forward with it, but court can still deny that step from happening. In other hand this does pretty much show to what charges Seungri is being accused now, prostitution and embezzlement, so I doubt he will be associated to hidden cams, rapes, drugs, corruption, bridery and other stuff that was also happening with Burning Sun and Katalk group, at least legally.

These things take a long time so atleast I hope it keeps moving in the right direction :sanapray:
Yup. I'm not actually personally that into of Seungri getting arrested or jailed, like him continuing to commit these crimes is quite close to zero and i kinda doubt he can destroy any evidence further, it has been months I'm sure he has destroyed everything was going to so him being in jail might not serve that purpose. However, I think this arrest warrant is still good cause it shows police are moving on with his case and they are interested of bringing him to court, it moves the case on.

Yeah it's been a few months already. At this point just let the trial start and we'll see where it goes :sanapray:

Netizenbuzz comments related to this (cause why not)

'News 8' Police to request arrest warrants for Seungri x Yoo In Seok tomorrow.. suspicions of prostitution + embezzlement

1. [+1,951, -11] That was sure fast

2. [+1,104, -9] How are they harder to arrest than the president?

3. [+759, -8] The police haven't been able to catch anyone higher up and are busy dragging Seungri and his clowns. Seems like there are more than a few police who were bribed.

4. [+381, -8] This is all just going to end in a blur with them getting off with probation ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ that's the reality of our country

5. [+213, -9] Seungri-ya, you sure stayed out for as long as you could~ now let's get you in jail

6. [+113, -3] Seungri's life was supposed to amount to nothing more than being a waiter in some podunk town but he lucked out by getting into Big Bang and earning fame and money and now he's back at rock bottom where he belongs. There's the saying that everyone has clothes that fit them the best and this is his.

7. [+53, -0] Getting goosebumps with how fast the police are moving with this case

8. [+47, -2] I doubt they're actually going to get him in jail. There are way too many people at stake if Seungri goes to jail. They're just going to continue spinning the media in other directions. I bet you there are a ton of higher officials and chaebol children as well as police all involved in this.

9. [+39, -2] These ba$tards show how truly rotten our society is. They basically did every bad deed in the book. Imagine how laughable they thought we are... Go hard with the punishment and show them the discipline of this country!

10. [+36, -1] I guess they're done cutting out all the people that they can from this mess if it's time for him to go to jail

Hopefully, something actually comes of this and they go after the higher up people involved as well
I don't think so. Seungri and his friends were just go betweens for figures from all over East and Southeast Asia. I mean billionaires, politicans and possibly the Triads.
