Obviously JYPE is better compared to YGE, but what makes JYPE so special compared to the others? I mean didn't JYP can Wonder Girls?

For the most part they've had the least problems among the former big 3. YG has issues with criminal activity and not promoting artists properly. While SM has mistreated their artists and under payed them.

Because most companies suck a lot, JYP ends up being one that isn't that terrible.

See how Jihyo's dating was treated more normally than any other company.

And compared to the other BIg 3, they've definitely been riding a success and recognition wave, which stans like to flock to.

This is just because JYPE seems like the least problematic out of the big3 but if you ask me, they aren't as good as people make them out to be.

They aren't completely without fault, there is issues like pushing Jay Park out of company and interfiering with some of his promotions (not to extent of SM though) and favoritism. Some more minor are issues with staff (not abuse level though, just some unhappiness from 2PM mostly), not letting artist to show their own stuff and artistry.. But i guess they have least big issues from the big 3.

I'm sure there is better small companies than them though, but you don't often hear that much info about small companies.

JYP is stale beard vs a rotten egg and rotten pork when it comes to which company is the best out of the Big 3 for artist treatment as you might not like any of your choices but the stale bread is obviously the best choice even though it's still bad.

Didn't Sunmi talk about how she had 0 artistic freedom when it came to her solos under JYP?

Tbh I'm not seeing much of that freedom when it comes to twice either.... Maybe it's just a JYP BG thing, which makes the company low-key sexist.

Yep, though i think it's not only JYP thing. If you think of YG's girl groups both 2NE1 and Blackpink has been less involved in their music than Big Bang, Winner and Ikon are. CL was able to write and compose songs for 2NE1's last album, but that's about it.

In other hand JYP didn't rly let 2PM to write their title songs first one they did was My House, although Jun.K was able to write lot of bsides.

Well... SM gives a lot of leeway with fashion etc, it seems to me like the idols get a lot of say (if they want) in what they wear etc.

I didn't actually know that, pretty interesting. I also feel like SM artist are quite free to choose their activities outside of group, almost everyone has sth going on for them. Apart from Jessica whose fashion business was no no for some reason

in terms of artistic expression, SM is about the same or worse compared to JYP. Both have idols very vocal about not being allowed imput or flat out hating the concepts given to them. Especially the ggs and female solos for some reason. There is a very very blatant discrepancy between TVXQ, Shinee, and Suju's credits vs Soshi and f(x). SNSD starting writing earlier than WG but they still managed to have less writing credits and no production credits. f(x) has a measly two songs compared to zero from Miss A. Twice has the 2nd most writing credits out of the current top 5 ggs while Yeri is openly complaining about getting shafted by SM. Artistic freedom really doesn't go hand-in-hand with either of them tbh
In terms of fashion, definitely no say given to idols. They're known for tragic styling and targeting specific idols and oversexualizing others

2Pm ( and Jay) dealt with alot of shit too. Wonder Girls got send to America and lost hype due to the company trying to reach something too early. Twice is also massivly overworked.

Any company is bad. No matter where you look at stuff is going on.
JYPE for some reason is a company that everyone forgets that also did some sketchy things.
