Sunny didn't disappear lol. She's back to working for her uncle (Lee Soo Man) at his company. She seems to be producing for their Rookies divisions (LTG and LTB, specifically).

I ment that she has no social media presence and rarely appears on variety shows, which is as good as disappearing from view in the public eye.

I'm not suggesting she's run off to live in the mountains.

If you needed one SNSD member to teach idol life Sunny would be it.

She seems to really enjoy that side of thing. And the content we've seen from the Rookies has been good! It'll be interesting when they start to debut and we see more of her touches.

I kind of mentally divide idols into "still in the industry" or not so ex-UKISS member Dongho who left the group and isn't an actor, idol, producer, etc. is, like, for me what counts as "disappeared" vs someone who is around, just not releasing their own solo music. Like B1A4's Jinyoung is still making songs for other idols, so Sunny seems similar to me in that regard.

Just different ways of thinking about it!

And to bring it back to Jeongyeon, tbh, I expected her to go more the Sunny route of being behind the scenes rather than shifting into acting.

That makes sense, I could have worded my meaning better. I just miss seeing Sunny as often as the other girls, I feel like I don't see Seohyun very often these days either but it's a bit more frequent. I was excited when she started her YouTube but she hasn't posted anything in 2 years now. TT

I've been thinking about who I think would be the most likely to go the none-public route and my mind keeps coming back to Tzuyu, I could see her going back to Taiwan and start a family.

Not shocked she left but I am shocked she was the first out the door given the rumours about her were there but weren't as prominent as others.

If she is going into acting then hopefully the company is smart about scheduling since acting takes a while so they will have to plan carefully for maximising her solo career while giving her opportunity to plan with Twice although that is to say if Tzuyu isn't leaving and going back to Taiwan since that'd be the real question mark on how active this new era of Twice will be however all the best to Jeongyeon and her new path.

I wouldn't place Twice and SNSD in the same sentence at all. Twice are actually close with real friendship and love for one another, nobody is jealous and asking their parents to boot a member out as they did to Jessica. I'd say Twice their situation is more like BP since they still get together to tour and do things as a group, but all do their own things as far I know and different companies (?)

I'm not talking about Jessica. It's clear there's some sort of agreement that (at least at some point) prevents them from addressing her publicly. There's speculatory evidence she's hung out with some members, but obviously nothing confirmed. Truthfully, I don't care if she still sees them or not. If there was truly bad blood between her and the others, it was ultimately SM's job to rectify that (and they did so horribly, as expected).

I'm talking about current members. They're at the point where they don't need to rely on making nice with the others, but they choose to hang out and support each other anyway.

Well, Jessica is a member of SNSD and she is gone due to stuff happening within the group with worries. Which is why I said Twice won't have that issue, they respect eachothers choices. JYP himself had said he is amazed how all 9 appear to be as real sisters with little to no fights. I remember Jihyo years ago with their first renewal of contracts, stating she didn't tell the other members about what she did, because she didn't wish to put a burden on the others to renew aswell.

SNSD was my first Kpop group I was into and I believed the whole "power of nine" till the articles started to come out how members were involving their parents and shortly after Jessica her message on Weibo coming out that she was kicked. Took me many years to believe a group could actually be really close till Twice came along and I focused on them in late 2019.
I am not saying I don't believe the others of SNSD being close. But until I see Jessica being near all other members again I won't believe that there wasn't bad blood between them.

certain members of SNSD left SME in it's entirety - Sooyoung, Tiffany and Seohyun for example they remain as SNSD but no longer part of SM whereas compare that to groups like BP and certain members of RV - all members of BP plus Wendy and Yeri remain under YG and SM respectively for group activities and them and their companies have acknowledged it as so

People really need to ground their expectations and not run away with the fact Twice is close like yes they are but adding more companies to the mix does complicate things as things happen like I'm sure people would call Apink close but Naeun ended up leaving Apink because of how difficult managing a solo acting career and the group activities truly was which is not to mention we don't know the full scope of who is leaving JYP either.

I'm sure Twice will want to make activities work but things don't always go how you set them up to so I'd temper expectations on Twices post JYP activity until we actually get an idea of it as while it's possible they could be more on the active side there is nothing suggesting they will other than blind faith.
