News Black Pink getting a Western Style roll out for their 1st Full Album (1 Viewer)

So I saw @Mayday made a thread about Black Pink's comeback being delayed so I went on my usually kpop news sites and couldn't see any BP related articles possibly because everyone's writing 10,000 articles about the 97 liners controversy... but when I just googled Black Pink, I found a couple of WESTERN news outlets talking about their comeback. Now, I don't really use social media unless using forums counts but @TWICEVELVETPINK made a thread saying that some Blinks on Twitter are pissed that the comeback has been pushed back again but here's the thing... IT HASN'T!

If you read the articles about it, YG is just giving them a western style album roll out that any non-kpop act would have! So according to this article in Forbes, "June will bring a "pre-release" buzz track single for which the ladies have nearly completed preparations for its accompanying music video and stage performances" which means to me we're still getting a full comeback in June, followed by a SECOND single in July or August then a THIRD single release with the full album in September (my birthday month btw).

I know this wasn't what most people were expecting and LORD KNOWS I am the last person to defend YG Entertainment but I think giving Black Pink a roll out like this is actually the best thing for their careers ESPECIALLY since they're focusing on Western expansion! If you think about it, this is the type of album release model that Big Hit used for BTS' last comeback which means that their FINALLY being given the star treatment they DESERVE!

So, what do you guys think of this plan?

If this is indeed the case, it's not as bad as it sounds at all.

If it is a single and MV in June, then a single and MV in August with full release in Sept, then that's good content for sure.

I also read that YG said the girls will be showcasing performances so I hope this means they'll be appearing on chart shows with each release.

At the end of the day, the is a schedule YG MUST stick to now. Any changes to this release plan for BP would receive an extremely poor response. People don't trust the atrocious YG management and the compulsive lies from the company. So I hope for BP's sake, they get keep the schedule and showcase a great comeback.

But YG the person isn't in charge anymore, they have a new CEO and I think the fact that they're are releasing these plans to big name media outlets linke Forbes shows that they mean business plus they said the music is already done so the only thing they have to finish in the MV shoots.

You have to keep one thing in mind though when it comes to YG and that is that they change their mind all the time and by the time it gets to September they might wanna do something else so it's best to just wait until they actually do something instead of just saying what they are gonna do.

I think they are too reliant on Black Pink right now to delay it any further than September though especially if Coachella is still happening in October because that BIGBANG's big comeback show and they'll presumably want one to lead into the other to help boost stock prices back up.

You think that but I doubt YG sees themself as reliant on Blackpink since they resigned Big Bang as it's already been over a year and YG is pulling this after delaying a normal comeback with also no date on that June single with less than half of May left.

Yeah, I was surprised that they're not waiting until Christmas to release the full album so if it got delayed to November or something I wouldn't be shocked...

YGE is already the most "Western like" korean label, they've always been like that. They started popularizing the hip hop/R&B trends in music and fashion while others were heavily inspired by Japanese pop and idol system. The best example of this is that one of their first ggs is a copycat of TLC, so I agree with you this full western mode doesn't make any sense...

Yeah we know, that isn't the issue. The issue was that the full album was suppossed to come in June, but now it's coming in Sept. Sure we still get a CB but we have to wait a few more months for the album.

But was the full album ever confirmed for June in the first place?

Still stupid how late they’re doing this, I wouldn’t have minded if they started this project in the beginning of the year but it’s so late now.
Also I doubt yg will keep up with this schedule considering other yg groups are coming back and debuting in July, can yg actually manage two groups coming back at the same time? I guess we’re gonna find out sooner or later.

I really think this is him trying to cover his ass again considering this came right after the trucks and not when he announced the comeback in the first place. They just want blinks to stream the and support the single, I guarantee they will try and delay the album again.
