So essentially Shuhua’s Chinese fanbases have ceased buying the album in bulk on request of Chinese fans who do not want to buy the album due to the unfair line distribution. They say this is a repeated issue and they want Cube to give her more parts in the songs to show that Cube cares about Shuhua’s individual career.

Honestly they are 100% correct on the limited participation of Shuhua in Gidle as a pop girl group. It’s not only the amount of lines, but the quality, the dancing, screen time and center. Gidle is primarily a singing and dancing performance group, Shuhua is not allowed to shine in that. She has no role in producing, which is not only lyricism but also beat making and melody creating. Im skeptical of the usual line that Shuhua “wants this.” I find it hard to believe Shuhua trained for two years and worked this hard for almost three separate years to get such a limited role. Either she is holding herself back or someone else is, either way it is unfair. Honestly companies do this all the time, adding a member to the group that they deem “untalented” and just using them as a extra body or the vague “visual.” Not to mention Shuhua has been given next to no opportunity elsewhere, okay her Korean isn’t the best so no Kdrama acting. But if she is the visual why not have her focus on modeling, cfs, and social media? Or give her opportunities in Taiwan where language isn’t a barrier?
BUT I have to admit boycotting an album on release day over the line distribution of one member is not a smart move and is toxic. If they’re album sales go down it affects Shuhua probably the most because she has no extra income from producing credits or side gigs like the other members. And it’s just detrimental to Gidle as a music group and brand over one member in one song. Anyway, thoughts?
