I think it's kind of stupid having 3 vaulters and floor routines when only 2 can make it to finals. I wonder what the selection committee was thinking. They could have taken Eaker for beam, that would have been a better move imo.

Yeah after I stopped I stopped talking about it as much, but now that I started cheerleading Ive fallen back in love with gymnastics too.

do they just assume the all around rock stars will make the event finals?

maybe they are beam / bar locks.

I think the assumption is that they'll get 2 in the all around finals, 2 in vault finals, 2 in bars finals, 2 in beam finals, and 2 in floor finals, so the maxed out they can get. I think that's likely except maybe bars, Simone is good at bars but I don't think she'll be in a position to medal. This team is pretty strong in all around and events as well, even if I think it could have been a different team.
Also I think a floor and vault event final will come from Jade Carey or McKayla Skinner as the plus twos.

I watched their "tryouts" if that's what its called and the stuff they do is actually insane. Real impressive though. The announcers were making it sound like the US wont have competition.

They won't, the US is by far the best gymnastics team, partly due to Simone Biles being so insanely good.
