    Lol my buddy watched Wheel of time last night.

    I had a Long discussion on thanksgiving with some other folks who were fans and watched it.
    They were more tolerant of the changes, and felt the core of the story was close well in few they had watched. More were out this week.

    I did learn that because of this Brandon Sanderson is now doing all screen plays for any of his books himself. ( i guess Mistborn is a go atm)

    As for foundation i have not watched the show, but i thought they straight up said they were making it all up.
    The books are just kinda shapshots going forward any way ( granted most were designated critical points) with monster time jumps hard to sell that in a video format.

    Long draft lost-mostly agree about Foundation show. Much compartmentalisation in brain of books n show. Comments iread online were most commonly Star Wars-ing Asimov's Foundation which rang true to me. Emperor clones n space battles n explosions, oh my.

    Yeah I was on a WOT forum site and there were a lot of positive reactions to the show. Maybe book fans might be able to overlook imperfections because of how long it took for an adaption to be made. I mean Jordan was alive when a screen adaption was first discussed. And he died 14 years ago, so... like for people really wanting to see their favorite series adapted into a visual medium it may lead them to compartmentalize the negative aspects... but I think one of the things that would be a deal breaker would be characterization. I remember @RandAlThor saying something about how The Two Towers and beyond [the films i mean] changed personality traits of some LOTR characters... It would kind of suck if they did that with WOT... although I do remember having my face in my hand [figuratively speaking] when reading Eye of the World because of Egwene... Maybe I'm the only one who was annoyed with her though

    @LoveYooShaSha I Haven't seen foundations though.. I might when/if I ever sub to Appletv+... I have seen reviews saying its the best Sci-Fi series since battlestar Galactica.. That definitely makes me more apt to watch it. lol...

    Alls I know abt Halloween is from books, comics, tv n films over 10/15/20 yrs ago. Things musta changed, as I read online tat it's less innocent too-like fears of spiked candy, n geographic changes means there's fewer neighbourhood's to go trick or treating like in 80s/90s tv/films.

    Iv read abt RenFaires but mostly in this 1 Sandman comic The Wake, which made it seem interesting in a well-being written by Neil Gaiman n featuring his character Hob Gadlen who is an immortal Englishman who lived thru Renaissance England n his comments n comparisons abt RenFaires. Iv nvr been to a costume party here but iv seen cosplay at local comics conventions. Seems to hv lessened even b4 2020. I think they aged out maybe or just enthusiasm dampened. The world is less fun for tat I think.

    lol. I've never been to a RenFaire myself, but... My nephew does want me to go to Comicon with him... but i'd only be able to get over my big crowd anxiety if I were to dress like this:

    I'm not sure though.. but the idea of having to dredge through crowds all day and give celebrities $50 for an autograph and $500 for a picture [some actors are really greedy] seems a bit of a waste... I mean $500 could get you a lot of k-pop physical releases.. Let's see I think single albums are like $9-12 mini albums are ~$20... Say you spend $200 on shipping... then that's still like 15 mini albums.. 15 mini albums or a picture with a celebrity.. I think I'd rather take the mini albums..     No, its catnip to a nerdy guy far away from nerd mecca. Ard 8 or so yes ago, a bunchafriends who go to the same comics shopas me in S.E.A. shared a hotel room n went to Comicon, they had the budget to buy lots stuff n maybe ship itbk tho. 4guys in a room n a long trans Pacific flight. I couldnt afford it then or now tho. Plus comics merch/meeting the actors isnt on my radar.

    Theres a comics company or more in the west USA in Portland, ibeleve, 1 is Image Comics n Dark Horse comics. If iever did a pilgrimage I'd go when iwas much younger n scramble a portfolio for f2f review if I coulda been a contender.

    RenFaires seem quaint n 90% of the time I'd be bored stuff unless I met ppl I'd want to hang with/tat would tolerate me. I read lotsa geeky websites comics, n sff(science fiction/fantasy related-mostly book, some tv/film stuff.

    Stanning kpop started too late for me, if it's been 8/9 yrs earlier I'd probably hv spent on kpop instead of comics/sf books instead or maybe everything n eat instant noodles every day.

N some r in roulette.
