Omg as an NCT fan I don't know how you manage. NCT has so much content. There's always something new going on with them on my tumblr feed lol.
true lmfao but sometimes I only know what happens on twitter + instagram, that's why I didn't know about WinWin going on a show

for me, stanning means that i listen to the entire albums produced for comebacks instead of just title tracks + regularly keep up with their schedules, and like all the members, not just a few or most of them.

i only really stan loona. monsta x is a close second.
and i am a fan of nct, wayv, red velvet, shinee and gfriend.
it’s not that bad unless promotions overlap,
like recently with monsta x and loona :yolk:
i use twitter, the nct discord and tumblr to keep up with everything. it was a lot harder when i was into bts.

  1. It is important for me to distinguish between casual fans and super fans, I use stan for this distinction as it is a phrase that we all use. This isn't to say that casual fans are all the same, nor are stans as we can see a multiplicity of views on stanning. I view fanning and stanning as a pyramid under which there are multiple tiers for which one is a stan or a fan. For instance, I feel like there are gradations among stanning. To simplify my definition of stanning I will say this (which I said on akp a couple days ago): Stanning (to me) is this: You can name many or all of the members, recognize some, if not all, of the members, like at least 10 songs. I do see that, for most, this seems like a generous definition of stanning, but then again, most people would not use gradations of stanning. To conclude, I don't feel like one must see every interview, know the ins and outs of one's favorite groups member's lives; just a few criteria, in my opinion, is necessary for inclusion as a stan.
  2. It can be hard to follow more than two groups, but then again, I do follow more groups than I stan. TRCNG is a group that I haven't stanned yet, but I still check often to see news on what they are doing. I'm not obsessive in marketing my whole life based around k-pop, as I can only manage to listen to k-pop for around maybe 1 hour to 3 hours per day.

For me, Stanning is:
Knowing and loving a majority of a discography, and knowing and caring about a majority of the members. Goes a bit farther than liking the discography. I used to consider watching lives and varieties a part of it too but it just depends on the group.
If I'm well fed musically, I don't care as much about the varieties

Do you find it difficult to Stan more than two groups?
Yes
I guess my definition of Stanning got diluted over time and I occasionally neglect groups.
I Stan the same amount of active ggs as I did when I first got into Kpop but the first groups I got into were well past the point of multiple comebacks vs now the only group I Stan that gets one comeback a year is BP.
It's exhausting.
I hadn't even thought about Gfriend for a few months before Yuju went MIA.
I think I'm going to wait until the next comeback to fully call myself a Flover/Itzy Stan.
Too many ggs
Not enough time :lazypotato:

1. What does it mean to "stan" a group, for you?
Supporting them, buying their stuff, follow them atleast to some extend. Those kind of things really.

2. Do you find following more than 2 groups difficult?
Difficult? More like painful for my wallet and with the hype lately to bring out 2-3 verions of basically the same album just different covers, cards. I can only support 3 groups. I will however buy an album of other groups (second row in my sig) if I think they released a good single/album, but don't expect me to buy everything of every artist I like. I also will collect all signatures of all artists I like.

To keep up with their comebacks, be a fan of their music, know all the members names and faces lol
2. Do you find following more than 2 groups difficult?
Yeah its hard to keep up with them all but anything less than 3 groups and I feel like I'd be bored

1. What does it mean to "stan" a group, for you?
I have 2 stan stances
  1. Hard Stan
  2. Lowkey Stan
I really only am a hard stan for A.C.E, which doesn't even mean watching all variety from them. I barely do that because it would be a waste of time watching something due to the lack of understanding (A.C.E doesn't really have a sub team that subs vlives and all).
Hard stanning for me means to invest the free time you have in them by promoting them, talking about them, post about them, do rabb.it streams , update their artist thread with pretty much all new stuff alone , loving/liking their music, convince others to stan them etc..

A lowkey stan, which I am mostly for Dreamcatcher, DreamNote & Dongkiz is to regularly, not as much as a hard stan, talk about them, post about them, introduce them to others etc., DreamNote's music hasn't really been what I listen to normally, but I know what they can do which has me anticipating their future as well to see if they can bring out what I saw in them at the first moment I saw them. Same with Dongkiz.

2. Do you find following more than 2 groups difficult?
Depends what you mean with following them? I keep tabs with most of them since I have twitter and Instagram and see their updates anyways but I don't purposely wait and participate that they are posting something every 2 seconds.
I'd say no, the way I do it. For others it might very well be.

The thing that comes with multifandom is the wider music choice for them. If you don't stan a group or haven't liked their previous stuff you tend to miss out on improvements, songs that you may like they will release in the future etc..
