Jungkook told Nayeon that he didn't like her "fake laughter". He did highly dislike her habit of summoning up laughter when she felt the least bit uncomfortable. One time while he was coming back from one of these nightly sojourns, at ten-thirty or eleven o'clock, on cold ringing pavements, into a world frozen bare-- a dead city of closed shops at congealed silence-- no wind blew. He had used to enjoy going to the cinema by himself more, he mused. Those days, passions were primitive, vengeance sudden, and retribution immediate, and resolution permanent.
