News MNET says no more audition programs (1 Viewer)

I guess this means the trend of survival shows, atleast the MNET ones could be over for the foreseeable future. Sure, there might be shows on other networks, but MNET shows were the biggest, most popular, and they had the most connections. You could have stuff like The Unit but hardly anybody watched that.

On the other hand, more music related programs could be a good sign if we get more things like Queendom.

I have mixed feelings. Despite the rigging and evil editing, the Produce series was genuinely entertaining to watch, Snakenet knew how to create character arcs and make you root for people, albeit ones they already had plans for. It sucks that many deserving trainees might have gotten screwed and worked very hard for nothing. At the same time, it put the spotlight on a lot of people too, which led to them getting more eyes for when they debuted in their respective groups, so it was a double edged sword.

I hope this puts an end to the trend for the foreseeable future. I mean any audition programmes that weren't by Mnet weren't nearly half as interesting or entertaining anyway, but at the same time Mnet can't be trusted at their own game and has been under suspicion with their audition programmes by fans pretty much since the beginning anyway. It's one thing to be caught fucking around and taking everyone by surprise, but proving a widely popular theory about the shows to be correct has gotta be devastating. I'd rather "I can't believe you've done this 😢" over "knew it 😑😑😑" any day >.>

As much as I love SMTM I haven't watched a new season since like season 5, so I wouldn't be surprised if anyone else is starting to get bored with it too tbh

yeah same. I loved smtm but after the Zico and Dean, Dynamic Duo, Drunken Tiger, IlliAOMG season it was just nope to me
