So many visuals, so little time. I'm basing this solely on their look in the MV, and not live stages/photoshoots during the promotional period coz idols have been known to change their styling/hair from the MV to their performances and it would get too complicated.
Also this isn't a bias list. But visuals that jumped out at me immediately and over time became iconic for me.
Leggo.
Do share some of your fav visual eras from any Kpop MV, even boy groups
10. Suzy (Miss A)- Only You.
Suzy with her supermodel looks in that pink outfit. When people think Miss A peak visual era, they usually say Hush, but this is super underrated coz they all looked hot as hell, but esp. Suzy
9. Yura (Girls' Day)- Expectation.
Expectation is a bop for all ages, and the styling/outfits make it all the more iconic. I'd be willing to be stepped on by all 4 ladies, but Yura with that body and those seductive eyes got me feeling some type of way
8. Eunha (GFriend)- Navillera
Ah the iconic short hair reveal, no idol has looked more uwu and gotten me in must protecc mode as quickly as cute potato Eunha in Navillera. No fancy outfits, no expensive styling, well her face looks expensive af, and that short hair is legendary.
7. Nana (After School)- First Love
First Love spoils you, everyone looks the best they ever have, and then they get on those poles and move in that way and where do you even look? You can't go wrong with any member but you can definitely be more right with Nana
6. Joy (Red Velvet)- Peek a boo
You know the scene. Once she's in that dangerously short skirt and crouched atop a table, it's game over.
5. Tzuyu (Twice)- Cheer Up
While most female idols fall into the cute or sexy camp depending on the concept, and Cheer Up is as quirky as it gets, but Tzuyu stands out as the symbol of feminine grace and beauty that looks to be distilled from the angels in heaven themselves when she cosplays Audrey Hepburn from Breakfast at Tiffany's.
4. Serri (Dal Shabet)- B.B.B (Big Baby Baby)
From NGG Twice to criminally underappreciated nugus Dal Shabet, B.B.B is runway music at its best, and leader and visual extraordinaire Serri became instant bias the second she did that sexy walk to the front, pitch black hair swinging wildly, for the chorus. Perfection
3. Seolhyun (AOA)- Like a Cat
The temptation to choose Choa was strong coz that Sappun Sappun
Also could've gone with Seolhyun herself from Miniskirt or Heart Attack, but they don't have her in a tight black leather dress stretching and crawling to evade those treacherous lasers while trying to break into a safe. Gimme a hot ninja Seolhyun as Hokage.
2. Jiyeon (T-ara)- Day by Day
The most expensive Kpop MV at it's time, a 15 minute sci-fi post apocalyptic masterpiece that also has a sequel, Day by Day had my T-ara bias Hyomin as the badass protagonist. But it didn't matter coz once blonde and evil gang overlord Jiyeon stepped into frame, I was willing to become her slave and submit to her completely. Takes a special kind of queen to make you completely ignore your bias, and nobody's done it better than Park Jiyeon.
1. Krystal (f(x))- Rum Pum Pum Pum
My obsession with f(x) has been fairly recent, and when I say obsession, I mean I'm literally listening to them nonstop over any of my long time bias groups constantly. Yet my love affair with them would've never begun were it not for RED HAIRED KRYSTAL looking GODLY in RPPP. 10/10 song from a 10/10 album, and at it's center a 20/10 visual. So many girls have rocked flaming red hair since, or similar shades, but everybody's looked but a pale imitation in comparison.
Zabraks: @Darth_17 @Darth_Lixo @Darth_berries @Darth_Bitzy @maruberry
I should've probably made a Star Wars thread instead but oh well
