Why don't a lot of ARMYs accept multis? (1 Viewer)

What I have observed with Army is that many of them aren't kpop fans or at least that's what many of them say themselves. They just like BTS and that doesn't mean they have to be into kpop as a genre or other groups, they might not even listen to kpop outside of BTS.

I'm used to that everyone is into kpop as genre and it's kinda like hobby for people, it's a thing you are into like gaming, comics, anime so it wouldn't make sense to just be into one game or comic or anime show. You might have bias group, but overall everyone is multifans, so for me the mindset of being just Army is it's bit hard to grasp. But I guess it makes sense if you think that you aren't interested of kpop at all just this one group. It's bit same as being really big fan of Rammstein, but not knowing any other band from Germany I guess?

I find this being bit of turn off though, especially if it develops us against them mindset that I have seen around a bit aka Army vs multifans or "kpoppies" (god I hate that term). But I think it comes from on how the Army fandom has started to grown outside of kpop frame- the frame of finding out about kpop, getting into group(s) and seeking out others, finding new groups to be fan of and listening music from various artists.

In other hand it's bit interesting how i-Army have became similar as korean fandoms are- they are lot less accepting about being multifan and lot more about just supporting your bias group against other groups than i-fans are. So somehow the fandom that is least into kpop is most korean like xd

Well some fans are probably too young and immature xD and maybe too new to kpop. Maybe you got this opinion because army is a bigger fandom so the more the fans, the more the bad fans. Also, lots of armys got into kpop because of BTS and maybe that's their only kpop group

I'm one of the armies with lots of other groups on the list, even if BTS is my first. @Ozymandias come and confirm here's an army with lots of other groups and biases on the list

And I agree, most new Armies are very young, they get into it coz they see BTS as this trendy, popular, cool group that is successful and well known, and once they enter stan Twitter and meet other like minded people, most of whom only follow BTS, they tend to have this hive mind where you cannot share your support and love for BTS with other groups and must be singularly driven to one group.

I think it's just a case of BTS blowing up like no group before it and especially in this day and age of social media, increased visibility, that brings A LOT of new fans and bandwagoners too. But I've met several lovely Armies like @bulletproof here who's ults are Bangtan but also support a lot of other groups.
And even new Armies exclusively stanning BTS will eventually discover other groups and become multis gradually I'm sure.

Well there is a big rift between ARMY's and other Kpop fans since the social media nomination
If you don't know: their first American Award they won (idk the name) required to send out tweets and a very small amount of kpop fans voted on their competition which they saw as a betrayal and most ARMY's are unfriendly towards non-BTS fans ever since then

this exactly, if kpop fans were more supportive towards bts when they got nominated during the bbmas then i have no doubt that the relationship between armys and other kpop fans would be way stronger. of course the hate came from both sides but kpop fans were ranting about not needing western validation and not needing the bbmas to be successful and i guess armys accepted that and separated themselves from kpop.

also, since bts has a lot of input in the creative process and have deep lyrics, armys think that every other group is manufacutured and fake and they look down on that. they dont want to be apart of kpop because of the negative stereotype thats set by non fans about idols being plastic puppets that dont have a say in anything.

Thing is: I am voted for them with my personal account, the max votes per day. But since I am "a kpoppie", I still get attacked eventho I voted for them and made time free to do so, like a lot of people did.
They should attack those maybe 10% who did it as a hate thing, not every Kpop-fan, who did vote

All I get is: "show me the receipts that you voted" (idk the info on my personal twitter account anymore and I can't access my hotmail for years).
And that's sad cuz after they won they played it off as if the majority of non-ARMY's who voted didn't help, which I find very unrespectful to say.

I am a person who doesn't judge what fandom you're from, but I know people generally do so
(I'm an ELF, I get shit for stanning a "problematic" group and get seen as problematic for some reason cuz the actions of your idol = your actions apparently)

I was mainly talking about the first time that bts got nominated for the bbmas, a lot of fandoms were talking about not needing western validation... i wasnt a kpop fan at the time so i wasnt really there to experience it but ive seen screenshots of those tweets and screenshots of kpop fans voting for other artists on purpose.
this whole drift away from kpop thing that theyre doing could also be because of the #breakthewings project that was set up by exols to trend hateful tweets on twitter so then bts would see it right after they got back from doing their concert. bts themselves noticed this i think, and armys were reasonably pissed off. it was a long time ago so I think that bygones should be bygones but I think that was also a big reason on why armys dont want to be associated with kpop.

I explained it above already. This was just a small minority. Some screenshots do not provide what the whole fandom or kpop scene think. 10 screenshots do not mean that everyone thinks like that, it means that 10 people think like this.

10 ss may look like everyone is against them but in reality, it could be only those 10
After all, not everyone from a fandom is on social media or on forums. Maybe only 10% of Exo-Ls are on social media and Twitter. From that 10%, 3% may hate on BTS. It seems like a lot of that 3% is something like 300 people, but there are 1000s of Exo-Ls who don't take a part in that.

See what I mean? In the end, "many" is still not representative unless we count every person in the fandom, even those outside of social media. Then you can see the ratio of haters vs. non-haters
