What's your opinion on dual concepts?

Only two (girl) groups officially have it. Red Velvet and Cherry Bullet.

Some people say that Blackpink has it as well but it was never blatantly confirmed by YG and other than AIIYL, they don't seem to have "pink" comebacks.

Do you think that it should be done more often or do you find it cringy?

I personally love the idea of a dual discography but I haven't seen a group do it justice.

Except for Red Velvet, of course but even then, I think their red side has been watered down.

dual concepts are alright imo. I like red velvet’s discography, but i haven’t seen enough groups stay true to the concept, and i do think it limits the type of music they put out too.

my main group NEO JAPONISM have themselves a dual concept even if it is not officially said.
They have one powerful and one bright side, just listen to Moon Child and Rewind the Story and you'll understand what I mean

Zim was weird and supposed to be weird.
UU was the last red song. I really thought it a perfect summer song, but it never connected.
and psycho was velvet.

that is the last 3 red velvet years now.

so the last 2 red songs are power up and UU.

It's really been 3 years since Power Up. Man where is time going
Umpah Umpah is fine but just doesn't stand out much.
Rookie and Power Up seemed like odd offshoots of Dumb Dumb with the catchiness as the only notably favor.

They aren't bad songs but can't compare to ICC-Dumb Dumb- and Russian Roulette. Even Happiness

I like it but I think like others said it can also limit some groups at times.

I'm ok with it so long as they keep it seperate.
even if they put both concepts in the same song, there has to be an obvious key change or something to draw the line in the sand and demarcate one from the other.
