That actually is not true as i know the buzz cut kid from exo, 2 nct members and RV (and the sr17 girls) that debut since that date.
i would do a pretty good job with most of the bigger non yg 2nd gen groups.
2nd gen stan may be closer to the truth.

Why do I not know more members in groups that have debut since say 2012.
Yet i can match face to name of Hot, SES, Finkl , GoD and a sizable chunk of the 2nd gen members.

I think its the death of fun group tv, non single group focused.
I actually think social media and things like V live, while they have done wonders for groups like bts t and bp have also harmed them.
I sure as hell am not going to watch a v ilve from groups i could care less about.
But back in the 2nd gen hey day there was shows like star golden bell strong heart and star king ect; vacation shows where members of many groups would gather and shoot a fun show. groups interacted with each other and bigger groups of stars.

Who does that now.. Idol room has kinda started with a few mixed groups this year but other than that. Maybe running man the jungle show seems a waste heck i love Yeri and Seulgi and i cant get myself to watch it.

All post 2012 groups are fandom centric to a large amount bg especially.

i really hope they fix that going forward with the new groups. I think it even helped with the fans getting along to a tiny extent (fans being fanatics and all .)
