Honestly, the first one makes sense since JYP just so happened to make a statement claiming that all trainee's who violate the rules get kicked RIGHT after she left.

I'm positive JYP wouldn't kick Somi out for no reason. We all know Itzy would've been way bigger than they are now with Somi rather than without. Pretty sure Somi left on her own accord. Also, think about it properly, why would another LARGE ASS company take in a reject of another LARGE ASS company? Doesn't make any sense.

I'm sure she left by herself as well, as she stated that they were both on good terms. Tbh, my guess is that she didn't want to be in Itzy and wanted to be a soloist, which was what the Black Label gave her.

Though, personally, I find the "bad girl" concept not really her style? I guess she'll grow into it though. I'm not a fan of her, but I definetely don't have anything against her, and the song is really catchy. The choreography was underwhelming, and I wish her and her company managed this debut better.

i honestly don't think anyone should be in charge of composing their debut song...i understand that she would want creative control but i think that should come with experience as an idol, not straight out unless you are clearly prodigious

Why we acting like Somi doesn't have as much experience as TWICE? She's been doing this since she was 14. Also, wanting to compose/write your own music should be praised, especially doing it at her age. Teddy doesn't just let anyone co-compose. He must've seen some real potential for him to even consider. She did well and just because you don't like the song doesn't mean it's a good song.

Sometimes artists you like don't necessarily have to make music you like.
The goal of a solo should be to show the inner workings of the soloist
The song is polarizing and from what I've seen, so is Somi

Just flip this and say she went solo and her dad was running the agency. They would be getting much more flack. That a real agency was that jacked up after repeated postponing. Says nothing good about all involved and i think it worse than if her family was running it.

I think that's unfair. Creative control means on her music, not choreography. She still has to learn that from someone else so it's still on her company.

If the song was for cl then its been around forever, for sure they had an initial choro, or at least a LARGE amount of time to come up with one. She has already proved fast at learning dances, so i am super skeptical about the story. Do something, stand there and sing if ya have to that is a creative decision too.

it's not a 'bad' song....it's just not remarkable imo. i think i expect a debut to slap me in the face.

I think you're really stretching how much an idol actually has power in a company. Maybe Somi would add input, compose and write a few lines in the song but pretty sure all the BIG decisions are still made by the Black Label. The story is pretty much bullshit, I agree. But what I'm trying to tell you is, this is not Somi's fault and I don't see why we should blame her as she is a victim in all of this as well.

Its certainly a failure of leadership which seems very common particularly at the yg labels.
obviously none of them have learned how to hire good folks and delegate. This is particularly obvious with as as well as jyp has done it in the past 4 years.
