Have you ever had a roleplaying event?
Members would be asked to choose an idol and roleplay him/her for a day/week?
They would be allowed to use gifs and the setting could have been agreed on?
I´m sorry if it has been done. I haven´t roleplayed in ages (translate as months :D) so that just came to my head :D.
I’m so sorry, I thought I had responded to this already. We haven’t had a role playing event as far as I am aware. I’m not entirely sure how that would turn out though. It feels kind of weird to roleplay as another human lol but if this is something normal then we can discuss this with the events team and let you know what everyone thinks :)

How about a couples "Olympic" game? Only users with a kpopsource ship can participate (or not). You sign up with your ship/partner. You guys then will compete in a series of challenges, earning points based on how well they do. In the end, the top 3 couples with the most points win something incredible! Losers? Too bad!
I love this idea. It would be a perfect event for Valentine’s Day. I’ll discuss this with the events team and let you know what everyone thinks about this idea :)

why do people on here think that roleplayers are some kinky childish weirdos? :D it´s ok! I´ve thought about creating a possible Games thread for it. :D it´s really not that weird :D.

We loved this idea and have decided we’ll use it as a base for the Valentines Day event. Would you like to help us prepare it or do you just want to play?

We have discussed this and appreciate that you took the time to leave us a suggestion, but we all find the idea of roleplaying as real people strange. I think the main issue with it though is that it could go south real quick and we wouldn’t have any way to control it. So it’s just better to steer clear of roleplaying events. I think roleplaying as made up characters could be fun though. Maybe we could do something like that in a future event. The issue is just roleplaying as real humans.

I don’t think you’re a childish weirdo, everyone likes different things. I’m just uncomfortable with acting as another human so I usually don’t do stuff like that.

i know nobody asked for me to reply or share my opinion or anything but i just wanted to let you and the others on the team know
(even though i don't give a fak about roleplaying myself)
roleplaying with kpop idol images and kpop like names is VERY normal among A LOT of rp forums/rp community
there are MANY out there, mostly based on jcink and proboards software, that rp with idols and what not
it's actually quite popular and them forums often get advertised on tumblr .... and funny enough i think that is where @brekker got it from as well, i remember her saying she did rp on tumblr back in the day or something

i understand you guys may not be familiar with the concept but its actual big thing on the internet amongst many forum rp users
there are actually even RP forums based on resources so others can make their rp forum even better with codes and graphics etc
now you guys probably know RPing is a well known popular thing, right but im guessing you just never heard of kpop related ones?

if you want i can show you some links of them kpop rp forums
not because i badly want rp stuff on KS, like i said i don't care for it, too much effort :lisalaugh: :wimwim:
but i just like to help and inform i guess

obviously its ok you guys don't like the idea but i thought, in case this was also based on not knowing and no experience, maybe some informative info might help for the future as rping is loved by many general that i know...
+ maybe there are more members on here who would find interesting to try it out in the future
and it be ashame if such cute idea be rejected just becaus you guys don't know about it and thus find it strange cause of not enough knowledge about it?:sanapray:

edit; just randomly came to mind now, why do you guys actually think it would go south quickly?
this is a forum with 98% neat and nice people , at the least , right?
i mean i would understand you would say it when its clear a forum member base is filled with bad trolls etc but this place is nothing like other well known places, where is the faith in your community? why think it would go south so quickly? unless you mean something else.... i just guessed by saying that you guys think ''it can go south quickly'' things would go bad between members during rp or something? i really doubt that knowing most active members are mature enough
if it was something that was not to control easy or if it was something that would stir up real fights all the time.... than it would not be such a big thing in the rp world i would say nor would there be so many kpop related rp forums?
it just depends on who you play with and members here can play nice, just saying:sanapray:

thank you for your support. I just hope you won´t get into troubles for trying to shed some light on roleplaying. it´s ok if the team on here doesn´t want to get into it. It seems roleplaying in general is regarded as something weird. fair enough! but thank you @SHlNEE

Oh no, we are aware that people do it on Tumblr and other platforms, it's just not something we are comfortable with and not something we want to bring to KS. As for going south, we meant it turning 18+. We can impose rules but there's no way for us to actually control what everyone says.

I've been enjoying a lot of codenames recently, idk if you guys know that game? But I think it could easily be turned into a forum event too, maybe similar to Mafia as its own event, either randomly or on special occasions like Valentines, themed.

Could you explain it in simple terms? I don't know of it and I guess my fellow members don't either lol

It's basically a template of 25 random words.
There are 2 teams, blue and red that consist of at least 3 people, 1 being the "Spymaster" the others being the guessers.
The beginnings team Spymaster has 9 words marked, the other Spymasters team 8 out of those 25 words to make their team guess them.
Guessing a word reduces the count from 9 to 8 and so on, the first one to reach 0 wins.
To make it a bit more difficult, one of the words is a blackened one, if one of the teams accidentally pick that they automatically lose.
And if either side picks a word from the opponent, it's the opponents turn and a point is automatically subtracted (so from 8 to 7).
There's also just white/no marked words that only changes the turn when picked.

The Spymaster provides their team with one word to describe either one word or even all 9.
So for example, the blue Spymaster has following words marked - Banana, Monkey, Space, Cold, Hawk, Empty, Box, Clown, Balloon

They can try to come up with a word that can describe either one word or helps the guessers create bridges to other words to guess more than just 1.

It's as I would maybe say the "code word" Fruit for 1. The "for 1" is important for the guessers to know how many they can guess with this description. Fruit is obviously a easy description in hopes that there aren't any other fruits on the 25 words template. So the guessers decide to pick Banana and the point count would change from 9 - 8 since they guessed one word correctly.
I don't think I've ever seen anyone be able to create a bridge with one word for all 9 tho. The best was maybe 4 and 3

Now they can either officially end their turn or guess another word, but the Spymaster isn't allowed to give them any other description than just the initial one.

Hope that all makes sense, I think it would maybe take about an hour or two of game time to finish maybe even 2 rounds.
This can be done with or without a timer too.

We can either use the playing site itself or events team create it themselves on this forum.
The explanation on the site is a bit shorter without as much details

"In codies, spymasters give one word clues pointing to multiple words on the board, as well as the number of words corresponding to that clue (for example, "animal 3"). Their teammates then try to guess the words while avoiding the opposing team's, and may guess as many times as the words the spymaster gave in their clue, plus an additional guess."

@Mayday and I were discussing frames when I came up with this idea surrounding new custom frames?
We have both agreed that we'd like to assist in hosting the event though we'd need help from Events Team members to help run some of the games/quests

You've Been Framed!!

Oh no, you've been framed for a crime! Now you're sitting in a jail cell waiting for your chance to prove your innocence.
It gets worse, you got bonked on the head so hard that you forgot what crime you are accused of committing, oh dear oh dear
But in this land you don't get sentenced by a judge or a jury, you prove your innocence yourself!
How is that? By figuring out what you were imprisoned for in the first place, of course.

RULES
Each day there is a daily quest or a mini game that will have a time frame of completion, each must be completed in 24 hours but the user starts the "time" by alerting the hosts
that they are ready for their quest/game.
Each successful completion of the daily quest or mini game will give you 1 clue to what you've been imprisoned for.
Users SHOULD NOT talk about their daily quests nor the answers to the mini game until AFTER the event has been completed.

HOW IT WORKS
In the case of a daily quest, each user receives a different one that the hosts will pm to them
In the case of it being a mini game, it can be posted in a public thread however the user will post their answers in a private dm with the hosts.
Their time frame starts when the hosts create a dm with them, asking for verification they are ready.

On one day, an extra mini game may be posted (it'll be difficult) and the user who completes it successfully and dms the answers to the host will receive an extra hint.

WHAT IS AN EXAMPLE OF A CRIME?

The crimes should be silly and extremely exaggerated.
Here is an example of a crime that a user FALSELY committed, they can be made more or less complicated based on the Events Teams discretion

"While climbing a tree, [User] accidentally knocked over a beehive and the bees attacked a bear.
The bear chased [User] around and into a cafe proceeded to destroy a teapot from the owners dead grandma"

WHAT ARE SOME HINTS THAT A USER COULD RECEIVE?
Here are the examples of hints that a user would receive upon completing their daily quest
1. It involves a bear
2. You were chased by that bear
3. A heirloom teapot from someone's dead grandmother
4. You knocked over a beehive from a tall height, what were you doing?
5. The "crime" ended in a cafe

HOW DOES THE USER GUESS THEIR CRIME?
On the final day, everyone submits a "warrant" for their arrest via a Google Form made by the hosts.
In this they must tell the hosts what crime they committed.

HOW DO WE JUDGE?
As it is likely that more than one user will get the answer correct (though to circumvent you can make the hints more vague), Innocence Points are calculated too and are given out
for the completion of daily quests and mini games.
Day 1: Daily Quest +500 IP for completion
Day 2: Mini Game +??? IP for completion (another that can be dependent on results)
Day 3: Daily Quest +??? IP for completion (dependent)
Day 4: Mini Game +500 IP for completion
Day 5: Daily Quest +500 IP for completion
Day 6: Users use a Google Form to fill out their "warrant"

WHAT ARE DEM PRIZES?
The top three with the most accurate answer and the most points will be given prizes (The whole point of this game is based on adding new frames to the forum)
1. A custom frame per request by Mayday + free badge of choice or 1 random card from generator
2. A custom frame per request by Mayday
3. A custom frame per request by Mayday

These frames will be added to existing pool of choices for future users to use, however maybe they can be named after the user who won or something? The "Mayday" frame for example? Probably have to ask Graphics Team

ANY IDEAS FOR DAILY QUESTS OR MINI GAMES?
DAY 3 DAILY QUEST IDEA: One of the daily quests could be this in order to encourage the "framed" idea.
Users will dm a custom frame idea to an Events member privately of course, Mayday will provide a tutorial on how she designs frames if the user would like to try and create their own, otherwise just the idea is fine
The Events member will anonymously send all of the ideas to Mayday and Yili to rank objectively. Points will be awarded based on ranking that day.
Example: 10 users compete
1st place 500 IP
2nd place 475 IP
3rd 450 IP
4th 400
5th 350
6th 300
7th 250
8th 200
9th 150
10th 100

3rd 450 IP
4th 400
5th 350
6th 300
7th 250
8th 200
9th 150
10th 100
Posted to Events Team Discord, we'll get back to you.

This sounds really cool!
:pikahappy:

It's not so different from the board game 221B Baker Street which I really enjoy.
